What are you wearing to orientation?
I was just wondering how students dress for orientation. I'm inclined to go business casual, with slacks, a button down shirt, no tie. Would that be too formal? No formal enough?

See if your school lists a suggested dress in your orientation materials.
Also, the search function is your friend.

Wear whatever you want. No one will care what you are wearing.

Top hat, cane, and monocle are optional, but if you're a gunner, you'll do it.ToTransferOrNot wrote:tux w/tails or gtfo

I'm wearing what I wore to work this morning.
A suit and tie.
Just like every morning.

I'm not going to wear the jacket, just drape it over my arm I think. Also, I may unbutten my collar and wear my tie around my head - rambo style.ToTransferOrNot wrote:thwalls wrote:I'm wearing what I wore to work this morning.

Re: What are you wearing to orientation?
My school specifically lists that students should dress business casual and I have heard that from students going to other schools as well.

There's a topic like 10 spots down from this that discusses this question....at length. Wouldn't even need the 'search' function, just a hint of 'not lazy' would do.

It wasn't ten spots down from this when I posted it. And I think you can use a hint of 'not douche bag' buddy.Kobe_Teeth wrote:There's a topic like 10 spots down from this that discusses this question....at length. Wouldn't even need the 'search' function, just a hint of 'not lazy' would do.

Don't trust TLS. We have to wear "business attire" on the first day. (Meeting judges, also photos taken to be used for any future press release, etc..) TLS told me I wouldn't need a suit until OCI. A-holes.

OP, if you're unsure, email your school and ask -- i doubt they'd flip the shit over it haha

Re: What are you wearing to orientation?
I'm sick of this topic and locking this thread. Unless you were told otherwise, it's safe to dress casually. Unless you were SPECIFICALLY told to wear a suit, you'll look like a colossal tool if you do so. Furthermore, the gunners who wear suits to I-week when they aren't required to do so all end up dying alone and unloved, surrounded by empty wine bottles and cans of cat food. That is a stone-cold fact.
