What books do I need to buy?

Post by audrey hepburn » Mon Aug 02, 2010 4:28 pm

Hey all,

I got a list of the textbooks that will be needed for my classes as a 1L this fall. However, I was wondering, in addition to those books, are there extra books that we should buy (e&e's, hornbooks, anything??). Also, how do we know which book goes with our textbook?

For example, for Crim Law I needed to buy "Criminal Law-Fifth Edition by Joshua Dressler". How do I know which supplement book goes with it? Thanks in advance.

The Dressler textbook probably goes well with the supplement written by dressler ^.^

In best, it's ideal to wait a few weeks before figuring out what, if any, supplements / hornbooks to buy. You'll do best if you look having a feel for the prof, and they will not infrequently mention their recommendations in class. People who have had the prof before may also have recommendations.

Understanding crim by dressler is probably the best supplement even if you are not using his casebook.

GT is probably right about this. You can probably get the latest edition used pretty cheap on amazon or once school starts. Plenty of people who had 2nd semester crim will be trying to sell their books.
