Part Time 1Ls, what are you doing?

Post by HazelEyes » Sat Jul 24, 2010 7:48 pm

I'm one of those lucky 1L's who got into the PT program in a school they wanted to go to FT. I'm pretty happy anyhow, but faced with 8 hours a day without plans, i'm wondering what I should be thinking about doing. Would love to hear from the rest of my fellow PTers.

My school has a special program for people like me (applied FT, accepted PT, higher than median GPA, but not overly brilliant LSAT) where you do 1 semester PT, and if your GPA is over 3.0, you get to switch to FT for the second semester.

You're not 1Ls until you start school, so stop referring to yourselves as such.

So (as implied...) FT students on average are better than PT students at the same school? I wouldn't believe that, now that USNEWS has made PT and FT much more equal in admission criteria.

I'm working, but I am attending law school with the support of my employer.

Well, no, not implying that. I consider myself relatively bright ;) I did apply FT and get accepted PT, so you do the math. They explicitly told me that they liked the fact I had a high GPA, leaving unsaid the fact they didn't love my LSAT score. But i'm pretty sure it's every man/woman for his/herself,a nd we know that many people chose to go PT from the get-go.
