Differences in LEEWS Editions?
Hey I bought LEEWS a while back and just realized that I have LEEWS 7th Edition (04). Is there any difference b/w LEEWS 8th edition (2010) and the 7th edition? thanks!

In the preface to the Eighth edition Miller says:
The CDs have not been updated since 2004 (they have a 2004 copyright); however, I have not seen the 7th edition book so I don't know what is new. The 2009 Eighth Edition book is 136 pages. This Eighth Edition continues the polishing It emphasizes that "A" grades are the result not of "innate lawyering aptitude" (The Right Stuff), but more the mediocrity of other exams. LEEWS simply takes advantage of across-the-board failure of law school teaching and other competing advice.

are you certain the CDs haven't changed? i'm about to purchase a used copy of the program and the Primer is pretty beaten up so I might just pay for the CDs and buy the Primer.RUQRU wrote:In the preface to the Eighth edition Miller says:The CDs have not been updated since 2004 (they have a 2004 copyright); however, I have not seen the 7th edition book so I don't know what is new. I am pretty sure I read that Miller did a review of his 2004 CD materials and found they needed no changes. I suggest you call him at 1-800-765-8246 and ask if this is the case.
This statement appears on his web site:
Yes, the Primer's binding is pretty flimsy. After using it for a while the pages do come loose. I may three hole punch the thing and put in a binder.

http://www.leews.com/program.html[Note: Despite the effectiveness of the audio program for Mr. Hyder, he expressed concern that it dated back to 1986. A second version was produced in 1995. A third version was produced in 2000. The current and fourth version, produced in 2004 and now in CD format, is the most complete and articulate version of LEEWS ever. For a more complete text of Mr. Hyder's letter, as well as reactions of other audio program purchasers, see the Results section.]

That description for the 8th edition sounds sort of stupid haha. It sounds like they re-released this whole package just so that it doesn't look like they haven't updated LEEWS in a while.
