close your TLS account, this website is a waste of time

Post by berkcol » Thu Jul 08, 2010 12:51 am

People here engage in the following things

1) bragging about
a) their LSAT score
b) their GPA
c) their law school rank (t1, t14, t6, etc. etc.)
d) their law school grades/class standing/rank
e) the Vault ranking of their firms
e.i) the Vault ranking of the firms they got interviews with
e.ii) the Vault ranking of the firms they got callbacks with
e.iii) the number of callbacks they got

2) speculating on
a) their odds of getting accepted by X, Y, Z law school given their stats
b) their odds of transferring into X, Y, Z law school given their 1L performance
c) their odds of landing X, Y, Z internship/job offer given their 1L performance

Sometimes, some guy with way too much time on his hands will write up a jumbo post about tips-to-succeed, and some good stuff will be in there - but 99% of the content on here fits pretty squarely into category 1 or 2.

I've been on here for a few days, mostly trying to engage in 2(b), but I've quickly realized that this web-site is nothing but a giant waste of everyone's time. Its filled to the max with the most insecure souls I've ever encountered, and it sucks you in because it is a giant propaganda machine force-feeding you a system of hierarchy and rationalizing it by logically connecting it to "job prospects."

Oh and you can rank the losers on this web-site too, just look at their post count.

Peace out, bye.

And there are quite a few people on here who are very knowledgeable on transfer apps. It is just a mysterious gray area.

Again, so long. Your 20 posts will be missed.

So rad law is a loser, I'm a slightly bigger loser, kohinoor is twice the loser we are, and waterman is the biggest fucking loser this side of Desert Fox.

Makes sense.

I'm trying to be internet-hip and understand this, but it's not working. Fish flops? Trout sandals? Wet feet? Could you give me a hint?

I think I did a Google image search for "weird." There was no point to my post.

TLS is more useful than most social-networking sites like facebook. I bet this wanker spends an hour/day on facebook - tagging, status updating, and creeping around, and yet he can't look past the initial layer of pompous BS TLS exudes when you first read it. Yet, apparently, unlike most TLS-ers, this guy was sucked into the wrong hole (use vivid imagery), murky contents of which didn't allow him to look past the WAY people frame Q&As and to actually absorb (and contribute to) the useful content.

Plus, if you're so smart, why create a profile and then make a diva exit. Just look around as a guest, don't like it, buzz off.

Lastly, if you find TLS completely useless, you can at least use it for hilarious purposes - like play-by-play commenting on the World Cup game in this thread: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... start=4025
