Good blogs ...
Hi everyone,
I have a question about blogs or news sites focused on law for reading this summer. I'll be living abroad without the stacks of books I planned to have access to (at least for grazing through) this summer. I'm DEFINITELY heeding the advice not to cram intensive content reading into the summer. I want to be fresh, and spend the time going, enjoying novels, learning the language of the country where I'll be living, soaking up the sun, and all that good stuff. But I do want to start casually learning about law, the legal profession, legal theory, emerging legal issues in current events and thoughtful analysis of them, etc. I'm reading Posner for the first time and really like it, but need online materials for traveling. ABA Journal occasionally has the kinds of things I'm looking for. Above the Law is snarky and amusing but not what I'm looking for in this case.
What blogs or sites do you add into your daily rotation of web browsing that fit the bill?
Thanks so much! I'm excited about law school and want to "geek out" a little.

SCOTUS Blog. The supreme court blog is cool. Its written partially as journalism and partially for people who know the law (ie lawyers). It also directly links to decisions and other documents which I like to read for interest or to "geek out" and I guess to learn what some of the stuff I will be reading next year will sorta look like.
Also, check law school faculty blogs. Those can be fun reads when you're looking for something to feed your excitement.
To name a couple...
http://blogs.kentlaw.edu/faculty/
http://uchicagolaw.typepad.com/
Also there is abovethelaw.com and law.com.
And lastly jdsconfess.com which is a mildly humorous site where law students anonymously post all of the stupid things they do during law school.

I enjoy The California Appellate Report though this is really only for those interested in California and Ninth Circuit cases. It's just little recaps and commentary on recent cases.
I also like ElectricLawyer

Yes I was going to recommend abovethelaw (which is like law firm gossip). And also http://www.jdsconfess.com (which as the name goes is like confessions/stories of law students.)
You will also find that many law kids write their own blogs so just doing a general search of law blogs can yield results.
