Phi Delta Phi
Got an email from the Dean being invited to it...how big of a deal is it? What percentage get invited to it? Does it vary by school?
Is it something to put on the resume?

Somewhere between irrelevant and scam. I'm 90% certain Order of the Coif is the only legit law honor society, and it's post-graduation.

Unless you plan on being an officer or something, in which case it would be the equivalent of being an officer in any other student org. you have at your law school.
Phi Delta Phi and phi alpha delta are 2 nationwide legal fraternities, however the later is significantly larger. I joined one in my school because they have a large outline bank and hold meetings where 2L and 3L's sort of mentor 1L's (like reviewing how to go about the appellate brief before it comes out).
I would see if the group seems cool on your campus otherwise its essentially a scam where you pay them a bunch of money upfront and get nothing out of it - and certainly not a resume builder

It's a scam. Now take that $50 you would have wasted for pi between thighs fraternity and buy a bottle of cabo wabo:

IMO, the latter is a much better investment.

They run our bar review that nearly no one attends. That's about it. Supposedly the networking possibilities are decent. Other than that, I hear they have a secret stash of really good porn.

I'm honestly going to the first meeting before coughing up money just to figure out how many people were invited and get an idea of ranking since my school hasn't ranked us yet.
