First assignments
Would anyone care to post (a link or the text) the first case you were assigned for each class your 1L year?

Re: First assignments
Thanks. I did do a search and completely missed the other thread. And no, this is not a prep method at all - my prep plans are minimal.betasteve wrote:There is already a thread about this in this forum. Do a search for first case read or something along those lines.
God, I really hope you aren't doing this as a "prep" method. It will be a gigantic waste of time (this advice brought to you by a top 5% student).

Here's my list, with my opinion of the case in parentheses.
Civil Procedure: Pennoyer v. Neff (wtf)
Contracts: Bailey v. West (boring)
Criminal Law: Martin v. State (boring)
Torts: Brown v. Kendall (somewhat interesting)
Property: Johnson v. M'Intosh (very interesting)
Con Law: Marbury v. Madison (never looked at it)
