T20 transfer to Boalt or Michigan?

Hey guys, occasional poster here but would prefer to remain anonymous for this question.

I'm at a UT/UCLA/Vandy school and got my first semester grades back. Based on some numbers I've heard thrown around (about historic curves, etc.), it feels like I'm sandwiched somewhere between the top 3d and top half. Just wondering what kind of class rank I would have to pull to transfer to U Mich or Boalt -- if it's not even out of the question with my first batch of grades.
