Dude is your tar a real Chipotle ad or just a parody? If it's real, and I'd hate to sound like a 0L ambulance chaser, but there's a potential case there with regards to marketing tobacco to children. Many small children eat at Chipotle and are, incidentally, about at eye level with this sign. This is, in short, an outrage.thesealocust wrote:All too trueRagged wrote: Threads like this make me scared of going to lawl school. Seems like there is nothing lawl about it.

Let's try and keep this thread about my friend Lxw and not 0L realizations that law school doesn't produce particularly happy people.
Lxw, are you willing to give us some ballparks on the sort of info we've been asking after? That'll help us help you.

SEEMS LIKE THIS IS A REALLY SENSITIVE SUBJECT FOR YOU. PERHAPS WE SHOULD ALL PM YOU TO ASK WHAT WE CAN AND CAN'T CHAT ABOUT IN A FREE, OPEN, LS FORUM. I'LL GET ON THAT. DOUCHELINER.wiseowl wrote:so what's worse, me posting about it or you posting that? mind your own business.
if threads are going to degrade away from the original topic, they should go the board that we already have called "Off-topic". Mods should be doing that instead of being participants in the fray.

Fonz, seriously, we're all pretty concerned for our friend here and you're frustrating our efforts and exacerbating our anxieties.

And I was trying to light a fire under his ass to not give up so easily. Isn't that a reasonable (albeit 0L) perspective to share? It was sincere. Some perspective is needed here, no? There are 6 semester in LS, correct... you partial fail in the first one and you quit? No. Wrong.mallard wrote:Fonz, seriously, we're all pretty concerned for our friend here and you're frustrating our efforts and exacerbating our anxieties.

seriously dude, in all honesty. say what ever you want wherever and whenever. But you have no right to come in and be a fucking clown jester when people are having real issues. if you want respect, earn it.
we don't want a fire lit under our ass by someone who's never seen how cold it gets. trust me on this.
you have been asked to restrain yourself, and instead, you keep talking and talking.

Although OP's predicament is not funny, I do find humor in that fact that you guys keep going back and forth about the best way to "help" OP when they don't even appear concerned with your advice (observe the number of posts since OP last posted)

Your perspective is ill informed if you think that the semesters are equally weighed.fonzerelli wrote:And I was trying to light a fire under his ass to not give up so easily. Ok, feel free to discuss this amoungst your 1L selves, fine. This will be my last post ITT. However, you never know who you might come across on these threads, so maybe you should consider the possibility that some might have surmounted even more extraordinary challenges in life, far beyond any related to school, career, etc. Think: life/death. And they might have benefited by even the most naive of perspectives, as long as they were ones of perseverance. Sometimes that makes a difference. Sorry if that was so offensive. Carry on, but before I leave, thanks to that one person who decided it was appropriate to forward along a string of profanities to my PM box. That was constructive and unequivocally proved how you're better capable to address the situation described above.Kohinoor wrote:Your perspective is ill informed if you think that the semesters are equally weighed.fonzerelli wrote:And I was trying to light a fire under his ass to not give up so easily. since this is set up to make it look like it was me that sent the PM, i'll just go on the record that it wasn't me. but it is easy to make a wild accusation that none of us can prove.fonzerelli wrote:Ok, feel free to discuss this amoungst your 1L selves, fine. your other point is taken, but also accept that there is much you have to learn. i would browse this section of the forum as a 0L but didn't ever post except to ask a question. works better that way i think.

What are your other career ideas/alternatives?

relatively small pile of debt = a little over 4k, which isn't really a debt bc my total assets > 4kmisformafia wrote:That's rough. I don't know what you mean by "relatively small pile of debt" but if you go to a good enough school, maybe median, or slightly below isn't that bad?? (of course ITE TLS is inclined to darken anyone's prospects regardless of rank) I don't know. Maybe go talk to your profs about what you did that was so bad, see if you can't improve? I'd say stick out the spring semester or trimester or w/e you're on. Good luck either way.
I guess I could do that but at this point I don't think it would even make much of a difference
The sun could rise from the West, too. It happened twice according to the Egyptians according to Herodotus. Anything is possible.worldtraveler wrote:What about sticking it out for one more semester? You might really improve your grades.
No, I go to a T25, not PCoL.Space_Cowboy wrote:It would help to know what school you go to. I think below median at PCOL isn't too bad. Its pretty damn cheap, no?
Yea I do. But at this point...it's probably smarter to try to get a job as a patent agent that graduate in the bottom 20% of the class and find a job as a patent attorney, y'know?wiseowl wrote:you have a patent registration number, no? with good experience?
your worries about grades are far less worrisome than others. stick it out, improve, and you'll still be OK.
Easier said that done?fonzerelli wrote:why the hell wouldn't you suck it up, work harder and do better next semester?
Well if I majored in EE I don't think I'd give a shit. Lol @ having publications, good UG grades, or good WE tho.mallard wrote:Are you at a top law school? How prestigious was your undergrad, what was your major, and how were your grades? Do you have publications, good work experience, etc.?
