Hey everyone, did anyone take the MPRE yet?

Do you just sign up and take it after you study a bit?

Do you need to take an ethics class first? Can I just read a few prepbooks and do it?

How hard is it?

What time (March/Aug/Nov) would you recommend taking it?

How much studying do you think this test requires?

3. No. Yes. (Although if you've taken an ethics class you will need to study even less.)

4. Not hard, just weird.

5. Doesn't matter. I'd only recommend not doing it the summer of the bar (because why would you do that to yourself), but rather at some point before the bar.

6. Not much, although it seems to be a bit of a crapshoot. My story is similar to TTT-LS's: I did about one day of semi-serious studying (Kaplan online thing for 4 hours and then another ~4 hours of self-study.) Scored over 120. In other words, spent too much time preparing. (Having said that, as I walked out of the test, I had no idea whether I had passed. I gave it a 50/50 chance.)

Holy crap. Thanks for the help. I did not realize it was so easy. I was thinking of spending like a month to register and sign up for it, but I guess I will read the prep books a few days to a week before and do it. Though, you have to register months in advance so I was thinking it might take months to study.

I agree with TTT and Newhere. I studied waaaaay too much. I wish I had known it was going to be that easy. I think I almost doubled the score I needed.

Can anyone recommend the best way/most efficient way to study. I dotn have access to kaplan online, so what supplements/practice tests books are the best. Just want to study about 5-8 hrs total for this. How many times can you retake it, and its only like $65 right?

Why don't you have access to Kaplan online? It's free. (You do have to sign up, but unlike with Barbri, you don't commit yourself to any paid course. They do this because they hope you'll like it and will want to sign up for their bar review course.)

Really? What are you expecting here other than.......1. get materials, 2. study them for a day or two, 3. take exam.

Just get the barbri book. It should be sufficient.

There's a free Kaplan book/online course (video + practice questions). It was fine. I passed, though not by much. A ringing endorsement, right? Anyway, I don't think it was Kaplan's fault.
