I got the K grade first and was so worried about the other two. I knew I screwed up the Ks exam (literally no sleep the night before), but I think I would have been devastated if the others didn't go as hoped for in terms of outcome. So psyched!

The Office of the University Registrar processes all grades the day on which they are received. Grades are available in Albert the evening of the day they are processed.

Does this basically mean there's no delay between grades being due and grades being up online? That would be heartening...

potentially, you are way above median if your classes are on a B+ curve...you've got two A's---most of the people around you will never see an A, no?

There are several schools that have the following scale(its certainly not common).

A = 4
B+ = 3.5
B = 3
C+ = 2.5
C = 2

My school is one of them. As for the person asking if he should quit because of a 2.5(C+). It depends on the schools curve and how well he does in his other classes.

It also depends on the number of hours. Was it a 3hr course or a 4hr course. I have a C+ in a 3hr course and it hasn't hurt me thanks to my grades in my other classes(looking at top 15% to top 5% depending on last grade).

I'm a 1L at Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. I'm well aware of most people's opinion on this site of our school. But in response to a 2.5 being an actual grade, it is at our school. The grading scale is as follows: A = 4.0, A-=3.5, B=3.0, B-=2.5, C=2.0, C-=1.5, D=1.0, F=0. If the original poster was from Cooley he would have received a B- if his corresponding numerical grade was a 2.5. The poster did not go to my "shit" school however, because no 1Ls have received any grades yet. Our professors have until Jan.24th to turn in grades. I took my first exam on Dec. 13th and my last on Dec. 19th. I think that our school delays the release of grades in order to make it harder to transfer. Does anyone have any information that either supports or refutes this theory? First semester grades being released late do not destroy your chances for transferring. And I don't think second semester grades being late will hurt your chances much either. Most schools have a end of june or mid july application deadline and most transfer acceptances don't seem to be released till sometime in July. I doubt your grades will be delayed that long.

The delay probably destroys chances of dropping out after first semester. Tuition deadline will happen before grades.

Their delay is no worse than many T1 schools. Our deadline is January 21, NYU is sometime around then as well. And SMU is in like February from what I hear.

I got some grades, but one of my profs didn't get theirs in. I sort of heard this was going to happen so I'm not surprised, but now I still have anxious waiting to do.

We don't get our grades until probably the last week of January, and our finals lasted from the 9th until the 16th. This isn't a TTT thing.

This does not affect your chances of transferring at all.

I literally did the opposite of what I thought I did. Torts seemed like a cake walk, crim and LRW seemed like a disaster.
Need to think about this.

Kinda not though....
I managed to get an A on a paper which isn't counted in this semester's gpa, and an A in crim which is worth slightly less credits than the other two classes. So, my transcript kinda lies about my Gpa

Top grade in lawyering skills will be an A+, on 30% of the 5 unit course. So that puts you closer to a 3.5, I think. Should be hovering around top quarter. congrats

Anyone know how much typos knock you down? just got my grades back with all B-s and when I told my brother I never spell-checked he was shocked by the idea and told me typos probably knocked me down from at least a B, if not a B+, in all my classes. I pretty much typed straight through every final (with some initial outlining on paper first), with 0 proof-reading and 0 spell-checking. This was, in hindsight, probably the worst idea ever.

depends on the professor, i am sure, but i doubt it would knock you down THAT much. i typed through all of my exams and i am NOTORIOUS for making typos, and it didn't seem to affect me.

I am skeptical of this. I never once spellchecked an exam, and I did really, really well. A different group of professors might approach the issue differently, of course, but that seems unlikely if it wasn't an issue for me over three years of law school.

one of our profs explicitly said that style was 10% of the grade... that included spelling, sentence structure, and he's own personal preference of how answers should be structured. It was civ-pro though, I think civ-pro profs are especially persnickety. My other profs explicitly stated that they didn't give a shit about spelling (paraphrasing).

Well, he told me one of his professors explicitly told him on one exam he was dropped from a B to a C+ because of typos. I hope this was the situation for me, as it would be an easy fix, but in all likelihood it's probably not as significant for most professors.

Even at a top 20 school, i feel like all B-s is such a failure. ugh.

I make a ton of typos when I write, I didn't have time to spell check or proof read any of my exams and it didn't hurt me. Sounds like your brother got unlucky with a bad professor.

One of my professors explicitly told me writing, spelling or grammar is 0% of the grade.
