Cy, we get grades on monday, right? Why have people been saying friday?

I think last year they said Monday, but actually released them on Friday.

TITCR. Based on last year's thread, they also did the same thing the year before that. This is why I always had two dates on my countdown, one for today if we are lucky, and one for monday at the latest.

Also, I just like starting rumors.

A 2L told me that the cutoff for top third is usually 3.4ish, but UIUC only ranks the top 10% and then publishes the cutoff for top third.

Do they rank every semester? When should we get those?

And yeah, the numbers I've heard for those of us at Illinois have been:

Median: 3.2

Top 1/3rd: 3.4

Top 10%: 3.7

Yeah, that academic handbook says they rank every semester. Not sure when we get them, though.

I really want to find out how I did in LR and LW. I know, I'm lame.

Recently discovered one of my professors turned in half of the grades and then decided to just go on vacation. I guess we will have grades back sometime next week.

I thought I spent too much time on the first fact pattern too. I felt like I left some issues on the table in the second one, which to me seemed meatier.

It's just the nature of K's exams I think. Ours was a racehorse-style issue spotter. I'm sure others are similar.

Mine feels exactly like that. I felt I was going too slow. I barely got to damages. It was a shit show.

My only solace is that my professor told the class he was going to give the best curve allowed. So I just got to avoid bottom 33% and I'll get a B+ or avoid bottom 10% to get a B.

Our torts was a busy test, but not so busy you could barely get shit done. Civ pro was rough for our section, not going to lie.

Odd they post it for everyone to see. I found it on google. Grades shown on the 20th and turned in by the 14th.

Asked my PA for some info:

With four first-year sections, law review will invite the top four ranking students from each section to join. So, I'd guess that you'd need at least around a 3.78 (the standard top 10% cut-off). Note also that to receive an invitation the students would also need to score in at least the 75% on the joint writing competition. Law review extends around another 20 invitations to students with the highest scores on the joint writing competition (I was invited on this basis).

Last year, awards and class rankings were sent out 1/15. After the first semester, they e-mail out ranks for top 1/3 and top 10%. For students in the top 10%, they also send out individual e-mails with specific ranking information. After the first year (both semesters), they e-mail out ranks for top 1/3, top 25%, top 20%, and top 10%. They also follow this up with individual e-mails for students in the top 10%.

Did s/he saw anything about LR and LW, or is that included in the awards part?
