It's never fun waiting to be waiting, but you can probably chill out.
I didn't have first semester grades until basically February and still got a 1L SA. As did dozens of other students at my school. Anecdotes aside, remember that law firms (and hiring committees) are made up of alumni of many different schools and that they go through this process every year. They know how and when grades are released. Probably a lot better than 1Ls. If they make a decision that cuts against you, it would be folly to think its because someone else got their grades 2 weeks before you.
