PANIC!! 1L Fall Grade Waiting Thread - 2012 Forum

Almost all grades back. A+ in Ks, A in Torts, A- Civ, B+ in Crim. Just waiting on legal writing. Not as high as I would have liked, but if someone had offered this in July, I would have jumped at it. So can't be too disappointed. I need top 10% or so for biglaw, so hopefully I'll be right around there.

On another note, I lurked on the CSWS thread every day. Thanks all for the motivation. It really helped.

So I've learned that 2 out of my 3 grades are up. Should I check, or just wait until the last grade becomes available?

I'd wait unless you know your professor is a notoriously slow grader. If I had more self control, I'd have liked to have all three of my grades before checking.

Yep, the worst part about grades was that they were literally the opposite of how much I studied for each test (as people have told me it would happen). Most studying = B-, middle amount = B+, least amount = A-. I really should've worked harder on my methods paper to get a B+ over a B.

These grades mean I no longer get weekends off at all from studying. Gotta get grades up to keep my scholarship.

How much did you study with "most studying" and how much with "least studying" and how much did you work on the paper?

We had six days between each test (which was fucking awful).
"Most studying" = 5/6 days at 10-12 hrs a day, 6th day under 10 hours.
"Least studying" = 3/6 days at 10-12 hours a day, 6th day under 10 hours.

I don't know how much exactly I worked on my paper. A fuckton. But I got so frustrated with the research that I don't think I found a perfect case in my jurisdiction for one part of the issue.

I'm applying to a bunch of PI / gov orgs. Most of their websites are absolute rubbish with no info about internships (even though they're clearly legal-related places). In those cases, is it okay to just send a resume + cover letter to the "contact us" information?
