Hi all,
So I was registered for the August 2015 MPRE but I missed it. I took the bar two weeks before and I'm working this summer, finding a new apt. and moving etc., so I've just been so busy that I completely forgot about the MPRE. I took the NY bar in July.
If I take the Nov. MPRE, will I be significantly delayed in being admitted to the NY bar? Can I start working on the application while I wait for Nov. MPRE results to come in, submit it right away in early Dec. when they do, and be able to be admitted at essentially the same time?
Am I screwed bros?

I did so many practice tests, & a lot of those questions were waaaay more convoluted than the typical questions. Instead of just one other issue thrown in as a distractor, there were like, four others. After I was done I went & checked some of the MRPC & STILL couldn’t figure out the answer. WTF. I could not tell which ones were the experimentals, & there WERE extra-bullshitty questions that weren’t covered by ANY of the prep materials fo sho (& I did practice Qs fm Barbri, Themis, & Kaplan, b/c I’m a weirdo).
I know right? If those guys are saying you need to get 32, I don't know what to say after doing this exam.

well, first time I took it I could not figure any questions, it was very hard. Got 77.
Retook it on saturday but felt much more confident even though there are a lot of questions that I did not know.

I took it in August as well. The answers rarely stated the rule as they do in the practice tests. Much more vague than the Kaplan questions, it was somewhat difficult.
You can be a big shot and take this test lightly then take it again and again...

I'll concur with those who thought it was difficult. I was getting good scores on the Kaplan/Barbri practice tests. I walked out of that test having no idea if I got a 20% or an 80%. I guess we will all see next week!

I failed as well by 3 points. I will have to retake this exam. I guess we'll be doing this again together. I'm seriously upset about his.

Me too. This is going to be an EXTREMELY inconvienent time for me to take the exam because I will have to travel far to that test location. ah well. Getting back to the study materials once again.

Anyone know how to determine raw score from scaled? I'm curious about how many questions I missed.

Wow it seems like the August exam was just brutal. I'll be on these forums though to discuss the November exam. Just very annoyed that I missed by three points. VERY ANNOYED.

I really wish I knew as well, so that I could see where we need to score around to do well.

121 scaled. So relieved!
For those who have to retake, I watched the barbri lecture twice and read through the materials they distribute once (mostly during my second round of the lecture video). I also did about 5 practice exams.

Rather than doing next to nothing, I watched the Kaplan video once, read the outline once, took one practice test, and watched the explanation of the answers.
I didn't get a 121 but I passed in every jurisdiction.
As an MPRE failer and then low passer, I feel qualified to say exactly how lazy you can be.

I've passed this stupid test twice now with practically identical scores - 107 in March 2014 and 106 this August.
My strategy:
I'm one of the people who over studies. I used Themis both times and did over 200 practice questions each time. Whenever I got a question wrong, I'd write a sentence about the correct rule in a word document. Then I'd read through the Themis handout and my rule statements a couple times a day. By test day my document was about 4-5 pages long. Good luck in November.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
