It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement...rad lulz wrote:* waits for OP to make the argument that TLS is not a "sentient being" *

The comment was bad enough, however, that it almost makes me suspect troll. I think it is most likely an alt for a different poster so they can say their racist thoughts/try to get help on an exam.

I can't explain why this post bothers me so much. I think it is the juicy pride which drips off of the backhand he gives to poor minorities.shredderrrrrr wrote:Lawl Shcool wrote:Where'd you get racist?Morgan12Oak wrote:I hope the professor sends out an e-mail asking for the racist with the tiny dick to self-identify themselveshonestapplicant wrote:Damn right I would stay in the Mall/west of 18th street. I mean how are they even going to find out who this guy is? "Um professor one of the 80 people in our class posted anonymously in an online forum asking a question about the exam." What are you going to do, do you guys want to take a whole new exam?

If it makes you feel any better, his future got a little less bright.
And to answer the above: Yeah, unsure how you are going to identify him though there is a chance that someone already knows who he is.

Re: .
eh, not sure I'd call it a "dumb mistake." Beyond obvious problems with the honor code, the directions on the exam clearly prohibited asking anyone, on any medium, any question about the exam. I mean, the dude blatantly broke the rules, and in a way that could've hurt/made it unfair for everyone else. It was a shitty thing to do, and he should take whatever consequences people want to bring on him.td6624 wrote:until i read that racist post i was gonna say it felt weird to see so much glee over someone's life potentially being ruined because of a dumb mistake

I'm not going to report him, for the same reasons that I wasn't going to report him yesterday. But if other people want to report him, I'm not going to stand in their way. Again, dude deserves it.
The fact that he may also be racist is just icing on the cake. Although if someone reports him, that comment might not fly too well with our professor, who is African American and does a lot of work with race and the law.

If the mods turned over the IP address (to the school, not the thread) you could track it to a specific address. Assuming he didn't send the post from the library, doing this would narrow it down to a few addresses, probably his house. If he did send it from the library, the school probably has a way to track the internet usage of student accounts on the network.Morgan12Oak wrote:If it makes you feel any better, his future got a little less bright.

It sounds like at least one, probably multiple people have already turned him in already so I think that is going to be satisfied. I doubt the mod's turn over much unless they get some sort of formal nice request from Duke. The higher chance is if someone already knows who he is. Or, in the alternative he turns himself in thinking that it becomes less severe and calculates his chances of being caught from the above two are relatively high.

Non-content electronic information (including basic subscriber information, IP addresses, and any email accounts he registered under) can be turned over by a private party (TLS) to another private party (Duke) without violating either the Wiretap Act or the Stored Communications Act.Morgan12Oak wrote:It sounds like at least one, probably multiple people have already turned him in already so I think that is going to be satisfied. This thread just keeps delivering. I can't wait for someone to troll in OP's interest and see that reaction too.

Also, I'm surprised by how most everyone ITT is on the same side. Usually in situtations like this, half of the posters start telling people to relax and discourage narking.

Its finals time, everyone (i.e 1Ls) is worried about grades, nobody wants to think this is happening at their school.shredderrrrrr wrote:Never have I been happier to click on a "." thread.Lawl Shcool wrote:This thread just keeps delivering. If I fail my exam this week I am just going to direct my prof to this thread and be like "what was I supposed to do, NOT read and participate?"
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
