+1 although I only have one grade. That one grade alone has proven that I'm not as stupid as my LSAT scoreFord Prefect wrote:finally received my grades. Turns out I'm stupid, but not stupid-stupid. I feel pretty darn good about that.

Oh lord this is exactly what I'm hoping for as well. We've still got like 2 weeks though! gahadonai wrote:+1 although I only have one grade. I think all my grades will be out by the end of next week, which will make it that much harder to focus in class and get my reading assignments done. Still haven't even started on my advance assignments yet.Bildungsroman wrote:Oh lord this is exactly what I'm hoping for as well. Re: 1L Fall Grade Waiting Thread
I am so jealous of all of you getting grades back... I cannot wait two more weeks!! Why do they wait until second semester starts? I don't want to be around other people when I have to process how bad the damage is. I'm sure I'll need a few days to recover. Hopefully they'll post them on a Friday afternoon so I can spend the weekend drinking.

Yeah, ours are next Friday at 3pm, ten minutes after my last class. I'm booking it home and cracking a beer, THEN looking.bostonlawchick wrote: Hopefully they'll post them on a Friday afternoon so I can spend the weekend drinking.
Prof sent around a real student's "A" answer this afternoon....there's only one person in the class who doesn't think that email is horrible.

Re: 1L Fall Grade Waiting Thread
Contracts grade in... I'm happy because it's above median, but worried because it was by far my best exam. I can't believe I would be more nervous than ever after getting one grade back.
Also at the moment I'm exactly as stupid as my LSAT score. Hoping that doesn't change.

Congratulations !crossarmant wrote:First substantive class grade in! Torts: A! No A+'s were given, only 5 A's out of 70 people... so I have a good feeling about the rest considering I felt the worst about that exam!

Does anyone know the process for asking for more money due to 1L performance? Do you have to threaten to transfer or what?

Some schools have built-in merit award for the top X number of students in class. So check there first. That information is usually available on the FinAid website.brose wrote:Does anyone know the process for asking for more money due to 1L performance? Do you have to threaten to transfer or what?
If not, I'd start with the Dean of Students with a question. (S)he may direct you elsewhere, perhaps the Admissions department since that's where the scholarship committee will be most likely.

Finally, all my grades are out. I was getting concerned when the first one I got was a B, but it only got better from there. In all, I got a B, a B+, and two A's. I could have done better but I should be happy. It looks like my GPA should place me just barely inside the top 10% at this point.

Very, very few schools will entertain such requests, and literally none of the top tier or two do. Proceed with caution; it won't win you any friends in the administration.brose wrote:Does anyone know the process for asking for more money due to 1L performance? Fuck, I can't deal with this waiting shit anymore. Looking at all of you guys seeing your grades and figuring out your rank...it's killing me. I just want to know how badly I failed so that I can go to my room, cry until my eyes are raw, and then finally get on with my life.

C+ in Torts (confused as hell) and a B in Crim. There are the only grades I will get until spring. Must get a B+ in everything else to stay above median. Seriosuly entertaining the possibility of dropping out.

Only vicarious experience. I've been on TLS for 4 fall semesters now, and every fall semester it comes up and a few people give it the 'ol Christian try. Some schools bribe people not to leave, but they tend to be third/fourth tier schools where only the top students have a shot at decent employment to begin with.0LNewbie wrote:You sound like one speaking from experience. Naive Optimist TSL: It's OK, even Elena Kagan got mediocre grades her fall semester and look where she wound up!
Bitter, Jaded, Pessimist TSL: You should drop out of law school.
Realist TSL: Law schools sucks. Scotch will help.

School's grade site has been down for the past couple hours. I was supposed to get one of my last two grades today... Hopefully this gets fixed before Monday or I will go insane.

Predictions on how you did in each class means absolutely nothing. Got the same grades in the class I felt I bombed, and one class where I felt I did rather well. Meh. I think multiple choice can really be the deal breaker in distinguishing the curve.

How do you even have it in you to read these stupid repetitive threads for 4 years?thesealocust wrote:Only vicarious experience. I am a) a little drunk and b) a little neurotic since 2 grades just came in but how exactly do I figure out whether or not I am below median? I think I posted IU Indy's curve somewhere here but cannot find it and I need to know whether my insane GPA calculator games are going to prove fruitful.
