The highest median 1L GPA at any law school in the United States of America is roughly a 3.4.

There are a small handful of schools that give generous amounts of A+s, in which a small handful of students as opposed to basically no one will have a 4.0+ after any given semester (Texas and Northwestern spring to mind but may not be alone).

Basically there is no way you are worse than top 5%, and in all likelihood are much better.

Your school's median GPA should be available to you in some form of academic policy handbook. Failing that, many schools post information about their curve here: http://www.nalplawschoolsonline.org/

Another B+ (3.5) tonight. Now have a B+ in torts and civ pro with contracts and legal practice grades still to come. Is it bad that I'm pissed I haven't gotten an A yet when the median is a 2.8?

Nah, wouldn't be surprised if only the highest grade in your class got the A. A B+ counting as a 3.5 on a 2.8 curve is pretty high. At my school, a B+ is a 3.3 on a similar curve.

in a section of 55 there are generally 3-8 As if i remember correctly

Yes, you should definitely be skeptical about STRAIGHT As.

It could be an A+ median.

Well, I figure I may as well encourage some people who aren't posting because they feel bad considering all these good ones. I have two so far, with two more to go:

Reg State: B-
Civ Pro: B+

So yeah, definitely not going as well as expected. Pick myself up and try again next semester, I guess, and then reevaluate whether I should stay in school.

That's rough, Silver, but remember that Reg State isn't a common law class unlike the 6 others we take this year, so maybe you didn't do well because of the less concrete nature of the class. Good luck with your Ks grade.

So glad the wait is over. Even though I am ecstatic with my grades (2 As and a B), it is completely ass backwards. Got the worst grade in the class I thought I had kicked ass in, and got the good grades in the class I thought I screwed up and the class I had no idea about.

Very similar. The whole time there was one class I expected to do very well in, one I thought could go either way, and one I had absolutely no effing idea how to study for, especially burned out as I was after already taking 2 exams. A+ in the last one. Still did well in the first two, but the A+ was outright shocking.

I know!! I keep thinking the gunners in my section C wrote 30 pages exams, making it impossible for the Profs to finish the grading.
Ps. What are the people in LRW doing? it's been more than a month.
