I haven't read or outlined for evidence yet. I was starting to do it, but now I'm back on TLS. It's really not that hard to do well in law school. It just seems like it is. And if you fuck up, it's your ass. lolololol

Re: 1L Exam Prep and Motivation Thread
I did put in work a lot throughout the semester, but I don't know about 16 hours a day right now (even if that was a hyperbole, putting in 12-14 might be pushing it). Yeah, I'm working pretty damn hard now (more so due to the fact that I procrastinated in doing my Contracts outline and I hope that Sun/Mon/Tues/Wed, and then Fri/Sat/Sun would be enough to study for Property on Thursday and Contracts following Monday), but I see no benefit in essentially killing myself before the actual meat of the battle. Personally, I already had my freak-out moment yesterday (while trying to ask a professor a question at that!), so now I'm in the "bust-my-ass but still relatively chill" kind of mood.uzpakalis wrote:Am I the only one on here not freaking out and studying 16 hours a day? On the reverse, hey, some people work better under pressure.

Actually, I'm a splitter that's worked hard for once. Not quite sure what that makes me, probably median, ha!Desert Fox wrote:lol reverse splittersuzpakalis wrote:Am I the only one on here not freaking out and studying 16 hours a day? I'm a splitter, and I busted my ass first semester. I'm talking about busting my ass to the extent that I could basically slack off for the rest of law school and still have decent employment prospects. I have 3 exams-but I have been running on about 4-5 hours of sleep for the past week. Yesterday night I finally got some sleep, but my dog woke me up in the middle of the night and I had a small panic attack while walking him at 4am.mths wrote:my life for the past weekHolly Golightly wrote:I'm considering not sleeping tonight and spending like the next 24 hours entirely on civ pro/caffeine/nicotine.

I spent 4 hours playing Wii yesterday. Yep, I'm going to fail out of law school.uzpakalis wrote:Am I the only one on here not freaking out and studying 16 hours a day? I spent 5 hours walking around Rockefeller Center/Midtown West yesterday. I didn't do anything productive yesterday, and I have only been minimally productive today. All of the students just stress each other out and complain. I study at home and stay away from the rat race. Def seems to be a huge plus.

I'm putting in ~ 12 hours a day at this point. The first half the semester I thought I lucked out and got into the remedial section, as I was the only one in the library. Now the whole section is in the library.
I thought I got lucky.

I thought I got lucky.

There may be hope: When is your first exam?bostonian wrote: I spent 5 hours walking around Rockefeller Center/Midtown West yesterday. I didn't do anything productive yesterday, and I have only been minimally productive today. Bottom 25% here I come!
Also, I played Halo Reach for three hours today. Even though I've been working with the random TLS break here and there since 3, I think I'm going to fail out of law school ("I'm going to be super awesome and make my first outline be my OPEN BOOK, NOTES, EVERYTHING PROPERTY FINAL, that will only take one...two...three...four...five days!") Plus, most of the people in my section are ridiculously smart. Or at least know their stuff pretty well.

today i went to the library and spend two hours on torts, then five hours reading a stupid novel and then played some chess online and then went home. i feel guilty for not being stressed out but i just don't think finals will be all that hard.bostonian wrote:I spent 4 hours playing Wii yesterday. I read every page assigned by my professors, and I briefed every case. I also read the E&E for every course and answered a vast majority of the E&E questions. I attended every single class. I did practice exams during the reading period. I made my own outlines. I studied incessantly over the reading period. I think that about sums it up.BruceWayne wrote:Can you elaborate on what you mean by "bust your ass"?JazzOne wrote:I'm a splitter, and I busted my ass first semester. Ditto, maybe I'm not freaking out because I feel like by doing all of the above, I know the material well enough....or maybe it's the xanax

I outlined my contracts E&E as well because that was my favorite class, and I really wanted to drop some crazy references on the exam. I cited cases, restatement provisions, and UCC sections throughout the exam.uzpakalis wrote:JazzOne wrote:I read and briefed every case. Re: 1L Exam Prep and Motivation Thread
Sort of. Most profs say they don't care if you cite the case name or the exact section number of the rule as long as you understand the substance. My exam was much more polished than that though. I really cited everything carefully. I almost nabbed the top grade in the 100-person section.mths wrote:Isn't this generally what you should be doing?JazzOne wrote: I outlined my contracts E&E as well because that was my favorite class, and I really wanted to drop some crazy references on the exam.
