Three things:
(1) general PSA - every school has a different curve. With the exception of Northwestern As are always rare and to be celebrated, but otherwise some schools curve to a 2.7 or even lower (meaning a B- is a middle of the pack or even above average grade) and others curve to more like a 3.3 (meaning a B- is a bottom 10% kind of grade). A lot of these replies seem to miss the fact that what would be bottom of the barrel at one school is quite respectable at another.
(2) lol at all of the alts being created for this thread. 'tis the season.
thelaststraw05 wrote:I want some fucking grades already. The deadline for our professors to turn in grades is January 26. Why the fuck does it take so long to grade exams? If you're going to take so long about it, why don't you write a shorting fucking exam so that you can grade them faster.
/rant
Ummm... and there's that. Sorry.
(3) In my experience, scotch is the answer to this problem.

My school gives out one A+ per class to the highest grade, or two if there is a tie for highest.

My school does, but it instructs the professors to give them out in 'extraordinary circumstances', so I imagine they're very rare.
But it varies by school.

So, is straight A's and no A+'s something to be extremely happy about? Or should I wait to find out how many A+'s my school gives?

I don't know if any other schools have numbers instead of letters, but for us a 97-100 is considered to be an A+. I feel like that would make them more common than if they were discretionary and to be used sparingly.

Another B+ (3.5) tonight. Now have a B+ in torts and civ pro with contracts and legal practice grades still to come. Is it bad that I'm pissed I haven't gotten an A yet when the median is a 2.8?

It's been far too long since I've been on TLS, but this wait for grades is killing me.
Also, I feel like I can't brag to friends about the two grades I have received, because I don't want to look like a gunner. 2 A's, Crim and LRW. Waiting on Contracts and Civ Pro now... hoping for a sweep!

Even at a school with mandatory A+ grades a straight 4.0 is a really, really impressive GPA.

Nah, wouldn't be surprised if only the highest grade in your class got the A. A B+ counting as a 3.5 on a 2.8 curve is pretty high. At my school, a B+ is a 3.3 on a similar curve.

That's really high for your curve, you're prob near the top. Check the rank calculator in this section if you have the relevant data.

Still Skeptical. Should I just take this advice and forget about it until rankings are out?
I thought I really fucked up on 2 of my exams. Not trying to be a douche.

Are you at a TTT where it matters whether you are top 5% or top 2%? There is no way that more than 2-3% of any law school class has a GPA average >4.0, no matter what the school.

What's median at your school? Unless it's 3.9, it's time to celebrate.

Congrats!!

I don't have my other two grades yet.. I guess they are coming soon.
thanks!!
i guess my predictions for how i felt i did was right on the money. only grade that totally shocked me was lwr which was a welcomed surprise.
That's really awesome. Our section is still waiting on property and LWR. I am so not excited but now that I have two grades, the wait is even worse!

gah, hopefully you get it soon cause i'd go crazy waiting another day for the other grades!
