Contracts bright and early tomorrow. Feeling comfortable with the material, but judging from past exams the curve is going to be really fucking tight. I hate that. Best of luck to you, bros.

I have never hated anything as much as I hate Con Law. Will be very upset if this exam ruins my GPA tomorrow. I bought Chem and never used it... but kept up with class, outlined, and studied my ass off the last couple days. At this point I cant learn anything new...but I feel like I dont actually know shit... ugh

Con law is pretty simple b/c there aren't that many issues and when they do arise, they are pretty obvious. IMO separation from the curve will come from better fact manipulation/arguments or case analogy if your prof is into that sort of thing.AssumptionRequired wrote:I have never hated anything as much as I hate Con Law. This was definitely my experience, but it may have also been that my professor just sucked at writing exams (he used to teach at Temple and some people in my section looked down at him a bit after seeing his exams because they thought he underestimated us).Robert Paulson wrote:Con law is pretty simple b/c there aren't that many issues and when they do arise, they are pretty obvious. The general issue spotting in Con Law is very easy (Oh look, that's dormant commerce clause!), but it's when you get into the fine distinctions in precedent in your analysis that shit can get really confusing and complicating. Con Law is more analysis and less general issue spotting and rule application than other 1L classes.

Anyone have a good analysis for standing in the DOMA/Prop 8 Cases. My teacher likes current events.

Re: OFFICIAL 1L Exam Prep & Motivation Thread (CSWS)
I am really NOT feeling good about my exams this semester. Last semester, I felt great after almost every exam, and had a great GPA.
I've had Civil Procedure and Property so far.. no idea how Property went, could have done well, but unsure about it. Pooped the bed on CivPro, pretty sure.
Working on a 72 hour Constitutional Law take-home now, and this exam is a monster too. Here's to getting median-pwned second semester!

I wouldn't survive a 72 hour take home in any subject, let alone Con Law. More power to you bro. Good luck.

Seriously, who the fuxk does that? Don't you have other finals to be worrying about? I guess you don't have to really study for a 72 hour final though.

It's a 72-hour take home that's "designed" to take an average student 24 hours to finish.
The time thing is manageable. The difficulty of this exam.. well, that's another matter. working about 8 hours out of every 16 hours of being awake isn't bad at all.

Is there at least a word limit? That would be terrible if not, for both you and the professor.

Re: OFFICIAL 1L Exam Prep & Motivation Thread (CSWS)
As much as I hate issue spotter exams, those 8+ hour take home exams sound so much worse. Seeing all these property posts reminds me of why I'm so glad to be done with that class, and also glad that my prop test was 100% multiple choice.
Ks exam was this morning. I covered most of the things I wanted to talk about and felt alright about the MC portion, but then again I'm sure mostly everyone else did, too. One more on Thursday...
