GoodToBeTheKing wrote:So, we have all pretty much been surrounded by law for the past few months: books, profs, students, hypos, thought provoking social policy issues, which have all made us think like lawyers - don't kid yourself if you think otherwise.

Anyways, anyone here thought about how different life will be when you head back home to see old friends, family, etc. and finally get to use your lawyerly (yes, I turned a noun into an adverb like every other legal paper I have read) brain amongst non lawyerly brains?

Personally, I think it will be very interesting to see how far I have come.

Holy horse shit op I just looked at your profile... 159 and 2.9? If that's true, and assuming that you are not a recent slave that was actually set free (not just a minority, an actual slave that was set free); you're almost certainly attending some manner of TTT, be it a T2 or a TTT or some other fake T1.

That said, I'd ease up on showing off your lawyerly brain to the proletariat (i.e. your non-lawyer friends), until after you find out whether or not you finish in the top 2 people in your class. Otherwise that lawyerly brain of yours, along with the rest of your body, might need a couch to sleep on and some cold noodles to eat when you graduate with no job. I'd be nice to the peasants if I were you man.. You’re going to need their fucking couch one day..

FWIW, having passed a few bar exams and having had the opportunity to do this lawyer stuff for a while, I assure you that if you were not a huge self-absorbed asswipe prior to law school, you should have no problems communicating with your non-lawyer friends.

And, no... I already have a few jobs lined up. Sorry to burst your bubble. Nice, lame arguments by the way... such big big big assumptions based on what? my LSAT score, GPA, and your stab at some humor on a message board? 2500+ posts huh? hm... what kind of assumptions shall I draw???

Mr. King: allow me to set you straight.

First and foremost, you’re barking up the wrong tree. These weak and overdone come-backs you’re utilizing (consisting mostly of defending this asinine thread you started by calling people out on their use of “over-generalizations” and “assumptions”), shows us exactly one thing; that I will demolish you. I will eat your mother-loving lunch. I will own you and your little dog too, in Fee Simple; son… ( See what I did there.. I used my lawyerly brain – whatever the fuck that is).. You’re just not built for this my man.. There is room for only one self-important, obnoxious-TTT asshole on this board and that’s me. You’re just going to have to deal with it.

This isn’t the LSAT my man. No one is here to judge your logical reasoning ability. And you’re right, I can’t look at your lsat and class rank and infer that you won’t have a job.. You very well might, apparently you’ve got like eleven lined up. But what I can do is look at your original post and infer that sooner or later your pompousness and arrogance is likely to catch up with you… But don’t worry about that too much; shit like that usually only goes down when you’re not expecting it, so there is no way to prepare for it… Just let it happen. Just wait and wonder when you’re house built of TTT cards will come crumbling down before your eyes to bring you screeching back to reality; a reality where no one, least of all your friends, care that you go to some TTT law school that no one has ever heard of before. But while you’re waiting for all that to happen, don’t start in with me; pick someone a little less obnoxious and build up from there…

And for the record, the “reasonable_man has too many posts, he must be a loser” thing has been tried by way quicker-witted posters than you; all of whom have fallen flat on their face in the attempt to sling it at me. Even lawyers have free time my man. I choose to spend some of mine writing mostly absurd (sometimes useful), shit on TLS. It’s what I do. Just because I don’t masturbate in the corner to the thought of my own superiority, bestowed upon me by the lords of the TTT law school machine (which, by the way, is in the process of swallowing your soul as we type – you’re just not smart enough to see it); it does not give you the right to take shots at me for posting on TLS.

So in conclusion young skywalker; ease up on the RM’s post count, and get your own house in order.

+1

The drive is only 4ish hours (Dallas to Houston), but I'm basically driving out there to eat with my family, then watch the Cowboys get their asses kicked on tv. I might stay out here.

Why the hell would I want to talk about economics, politics, legal issues, or anything intellectual in nature with my friends from back home during my one break to get away from all the academic snobbery? This is going to be my coveted time to unwind, engage in mindless convos about the most immature things, and have a damn good time doing it.

Easy guys... He has "several" jobs lined up in November of his 1L... (clearly both Starbucks and Bed Bath and Beyond (his previous employers), have invited him back to serve as a "summer associate" training new Baristas and Towel folders, respectively)...

Calm down playa, it was a poorly worded question, can a brother make a mistake without getting eaten up for it?

Take it easy, you made your point, emphatically I might add.

Mafukas are going to stop joining TLS if all you do is come and point out how stupid the question is? After all he has attended law school and it is not too early to start seeing how it changed him, its part of the reward we get for continuing to pursue the profession, it changes you as a person.

The spirit of his question is valid, why is everyone such a bitch that everything has to worded precisely to suit some arbitrary standard or else they throw a fit? Reading cases an shit even it is for three months changes you significantly, I for one learned I that I can sue for all kinds of shit.

Then when he defends himself against unwarranted hostilities you attack his life, just shut da fuck up. We cannot all be lawyers and as unpretentious as you. Wat a fucking asshole, for no reason. How can you infer the underlining intent of the question without acknowledging that it might just have been poorly worded, dumbass. Dont judge manye, it aint yo place. 8e pleadings must be construed so as to do justice.

Dead serious, it happens all the time, and you cant read any constructive responses cause ppl derail the thread early by pointing out how 'stupid' the question is. If the guy is trying to make a point and its clear just answer, it was basically a 'how as law school changed you' question and the hating turned it into everyone trying to show how 'normal' they were cause they drink on thanksgiving. wtf?

Dead serious, it happens all the time, and you cant read any constructive responses cause ppl derail the thread early by pointing out how 'stupid' the question is. If the guy is trying to make a point and its clear just answer, it was basically a 'how as law school changed you' question and the hating turned it into everyone trying to show how 'normal' they were cause they drink on thanksgiving. wtf?
what lawl school do you go to?

But the kids love it! But for real, are you seriously quoting sections of the FRCP? For real? Honestly gangsta, don't playa hate.
