i really don't understand the harm of tagging. bookmarks are a pain to get back to.Corsair wrote:Why do people tag in a thread when people have already been explicitly banned for tagging in a thread. Seven more temporary bans added. How many times do people need to be slapped on the wrist to prevent this scourge of worthless posts?
Tagging a thread will result in temporary bans. Use the bookmark feature.

You guys are so dumb. Arrow is a fraud. I followed his advice and even made an outline and, even though I finished 1st in my section, I didn't get straight A's.......
I can't believe how many people arrow has helped to achieve their goals. He should win some kind of Mother Theresa award or something.
Also, this tag stuff is dumb. I have never once been like "man, look at all those tag, this thread is just ruined for me now!"

Banning for tagging a thread is ridiculously. The bookmarking feature is far less convenient, and tagging has the added benefit a bumping helpful threads to the first page.

bumping is great. the search feature is less than great. 24 hour bans are petty.Corsair wrote:We are generally against bumping as well. Big fan of the search feature. Besides, all the bans are 24 hours or less.

You can't make this more than a tag by just adding a bunch synonyms for "tag."faceman9000 wrote:+1

I'm happy with this rule but I think the regulated behavior misses some of the targeted behavior.Corsair wrote:Why do people tag in a thread when people have already been explicitly banned for tagging in a thread. I think the rule should be broad: Do not post unless your post adds something of value to the thread. Tagging, bumping, and "Hey man, nice thread" add nothing to the thread. Adding a thought or analyzing a point, add something to the thread. "I love TLS" also dumb but that might make the rule over broad. TLS has no supreme court so the mods don't have worry about that, save a little backlash in the Lounge.

Re: +1 for Arrow and "Success in Law School"
My intention was to do nothing more than ridicule and poke-fun at all of the tagging...which I have done sarcastically in a number of threads. I find it silly. Nevertheless, it doesn't bother me if people do it. It is not difficult to just look past these posts.mikeytwoshoes wrote:You can't make this more than a tag by just adding a bunch synonyms for "tag."faceman9000 wrote:+1

P.S. This whole thread is one big "tag" of other threads.

I was gonna say something along the same lines. I'm another one of those people who doesn't see tagging as being so vile (though I've never tagged myself).faceman9000 wrote: P.S. This whole thread is one big "tag" of other threads.

That is an excellent question. If you would like to help me answer it check these out:Herb Watchfell wrote:Gongrats, OP! Thank you for your wonderful advice! Will you be transferring?

(1) This one has a poll. Hooray for polls! http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=111244
(2) This one has more general discussion. http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=105580
EDIT: I am actually top 12%. In my initial post rankings had not yet come out, and I had based my original rank off of previous years' scales, and this year's scale screwed me out of 2%. fml. I will OWN exams this semester and MegaTTTron will reap his/her revenge (fingers crossed).

You'll be glad to know that there are already 1.6 million fans. Megatron is due August 6th! Luckilly she found out it is going to be a boy, it would be weird (weirder) if Megatron was a girl haha.

That is so amazing. I honestly sort of wish my real name was Megatron. Although growing up would be pure hell.
All Honor To Megatron! (and the horrifying, self-esteem-destroying, future he is sure to endure as the result of idiotic parents)
