Surprisingly, I'm not too anxious to check grades. In fact, I have no idea when they are supposed to come out. I hope that it's sooner rather than later so I can apply places, but that's it. And I don't expect great things either, but I'm trying to be a bit more zen about the whole thing. At this point they are put of my hands, so whatever will be will be. No use stressing about them now.

But when they do finally post I don't think I'll have the balls to check them, lol

Nope and we don't have the slightest idea when they are due to be out

I wish I could be like you cowgirl-bebop. It isn't enough that I'm already anxious about grades, I have to sit here how many hours a day writing personal statements and crap constantly thinking, "What if I bombed and I'm just not good enough."

To make things worse, at application #6 I realized there was a 1-letter-mistake in my cover letter. Instead of "increases" it read "increased."

Oh well, too late I thought. Hopefully they won't be too harsh one me.

At application #10, I realized that there is an entire word missing in my resume. It read "...opinion polls and statistical." Statistical WHAT?

I'm physically in pain. All that work and probably will get dinged even before the screening call.

**Edit: Oh, and grades don't come out till late January. This ought to be illegal.

Eh, my year only 1 or two profs waited 'til February, and that was often due to legit family emergency type stuff. I think most were out in the Jan 7th-Jan 25th window or so.

+1

I was thinking about it. We had ~90 people in our 1L sections. All of the exams I wrote 15-20 pages. If everyone did about the same, that is 1,350-1800 pages of exams.

got 8 hours out of 14. and i know i did poorly on LRW (citation problems) so at best i'll be hovering above median. not sure what i'm going to do if i can't bring my grades up. i'm a little okay because i'm not swallowed by debt but it is unsettling. i like law school, just don't know what to do at median at a mediocre school

Work on your intangibles before job season. Median at any school is still not the kiss of death, you can always try to out perform your grades. Grades only speak about you most when it has to.

My torts professor usually teach the small split section of 45. She has 90 for this semester - for the first time ever. I'd be amazed if we get our grades at the same time as the other grades. I didn't write as much as I did in Contracts though.

yeah, thanks tls - 'ppreciate it. it just woulda been nicer to work on my intangibles and have pretty decent grades. this whole "try to be optimistic" new years resolution is going up in flames pretty quickly.

for those who are keeping track, the exam i thought i "dominated" except for missing the policy q came out to a B+. now i still have the exam where i missed literally 1/3 of it by not studying erie + LRW.

Can't change your grades. Work with what you got. Yes you can get better grades, but what I said still holds true. There absolutely no positive reason to be negative about the past (other than learning from it).

Yep, we're in different sections though so it is all good (trying to separate interwebz from real life)
