Let me know if Battle of the Forms gives you problems.akili wrote:Making pretty good progress on K's. I mean, I haven't paid attention all semester so I have a lot of work, but I got a last burst of motivation. Slogging my way through Battle o' the Forms and Parol (NO E) Evidence right now.

i still don't get these torts cases, like ones for products liability or defenses based on plaintiff's conduct. Its like many of the cases can turn on just a simple word and Im failing to find a pattern to these mbe questions.

just in general it seems like every question on the Feb 1991 MBE and 2008 MBE is a random answer that I can't understand why that specific answer choice was correct

I think "parol" is form the French "parole", which means "word" or "oral", so "parole" actually makes more sense to me. Our contracts casebook made the point that "precedent" is pronounced preceedent. I've never heard anyone pronounce it that way, though.merc280 wrote:akili wrote:Making pretty good progress on K's. our funny professor said "if you use an E on the exam, you will look STUPID, so please don't do that"

I had a pick up line after first semester:
"Hey baby, Im bottom half, because I like my women on top", and then I later found out all of the women in the top half of the class were either weird or married, or just super old.

if only law school women were hot. 6 people in our class have started dating. now at the close of 1L, there are still 5 women who are single, and 20ish guys. Clearly those 5 are not worth going after or else they would have been asked out in the 24 weeks that is 1L

Or, maybe they WERE asked out and decided they weren't desperate enough to go out with the first person that asked them?merc280 wrote:if only law school women were hot. 6 people in our class have started dating. now at the close of 1L, there are still 5 women who are single, and 20ish guys. Or maybe they didn't want to date law students because law students are terrible people?LSATmakesMeNeurotic wrote:Or, maybe they WERE asked out and decided they weren't desperate enough to go out with the first person that asked them?merc280 wrote:if only law school women were hot. 6 people in our class have started dating. now at the close of 1L, there are still 5 women who are single, and 20ish guys. At this point I'm more concerned about nailing exams, not girls.

in that case, good thing I didn't ask out that one girl. Then again she wasn't that hot and seeing her for such a long time day after day just made her seem more appealing.LSATmakesMeNeurotic wrote:Or, maybe they WERE asked out and decided they weren't desperate enough to go out with the first person that asked them?merc280 wrote:if only law school women were hot. 6 people in our class have started dating. now at the close of 1L, there are still 5 women who are single, and 20ish guys. seems like law girls are likely to go out with a guy even if he's just average if he is a genuinely nice guy.

Dunzo with year one. Already had a couple beers. Taking a break now to rest and recover, then it's back to drinking in a little.
Good luck to everyone still studying. I'll be cheering you on from my drunken stupor.
