Got on a secondary. I'll take it. The secondaries do draft picks, just FYI. So SELJ and ELJ draft those who don't write onto LR.
GOOD LUCK OBLA

Congrats! Considering it's 9pm, I'm guessing it's not happening. How recently were you called?beach_terror wrote:Got on a secondary. I'll take it. The secondaries do draft picks, just FYI. So SELJ and ELJ draft those who don't write onto LR.

Very recently, they made it sound like they haven't got very far. They must have started late.ObLaDiObLaDa wrote:Congrats! Considering it's 9pm, I'm guessing it's not happening. Ahh. I guess I'll hang around my phone a little bit longer then. Seriously though, congrats! I know you wanted LR but getting on a secondary is still awesome (and better than about half your class).

Doing the writing comp because it's before my "drop dead date" of 7/20 (which I think is also the debt ceiling date and the NFL strike datebeach_terror wrote:Did you transfer?keg411 wrote:If it makes y'all feel any better, I'm doing my second writing competition.![]()

It's very nice to open your email and see the words "invitation" there.

Re: The write-on thread
Cornell invited 40-something people yesterday to be on Law Review. The other 150-something now have to wait a few days to see who the secondary journals scoop up. This is not an ideal system.

Re: The write-on thread
made it onto a secondary journal at my TTT. not sure if i should do it, though. i was already on a journal 1L year, and while this one is supposedly more "prestigious" (at least based on the talks i've had with 2Ls), i'm not sure if it's worth it. the current journal i'm on doesn't require much work and is focused on a topic i'm more interested in; the one i just got on probably will entail a lot more work, but again, it's more "prestigious" and apparently has a killer outline bank.
thoughts anyone?

I'm with you moanderson. Writing-on was awesome and I'm really stoked about it, but the work is going to suck. Got an email the other day telling me to start thinking about note topics. Blaaaah...

Haha, wow. I'm just going to take a little bit of time to be slightly happy about getting on before I do that (we don't find out if it's write-on or grade-on).romothesavior wrote:I'm with you moanderson. Re: The write-on thread
Well, I found out I got on like 3 weeks ago. Celebrated hard that night, bragged to my girlfriend for about two weeks (she's a non-law student so I can get away with it), and was really excited about it. And I still am excited about it, but now it is starting to set in that this thing isn't just a resume line, its also a shit ton of work.ndirish2010 wrote:Haha, wow. I was about to set up a celebration, and then it dawned on me that my fellow law students might not be itching to celebrate my success to the same extent I am.theantiscalia wrote:Me too. I'm a little surprised at the silence on FB. There seriously hasn't been a peep about the calls being out...

If someone posted that they're out, everyone would just think they're just bragging.theantiscalia wrote:I think the rest of the class would hate you.
