I was stunned to learn that I kilt it 1st semester. And I'm quite confident I'ma get median pwned this semester. C'est la vie. Better than median pwnage both semesters.

Re: 1L Exam Prep and Motivation Thread (ROUND 2 SUCKAS)
so my K's exam is an insane issue spotter--like literally 98+ issues per exam, A's get 2/3 of them. The A answer I saw from 2 yrs ago had about 7k words. The practice test I just took had a little over 4k and I had a list of issues from him [major issues] that he was looking for and I hit almost all of them. I am wondering where the other 3k words come from
He gives double points for policy...my 4k includes policy. What am I missing here...?
Our academic success professor told us she has never seen an A answer that doesnt have about 20 pages..mine was 12. Im clearly missing something here..8 pages and 3k words worth of something
any ideas?

Only wish: he would have told us before finals. Then no one would have tried, and it would've been way easier to do well. Still, such a relief to know that even if I bomb, the worst consequence is my future job prospects. Not $40k.goosey wrote:super jealous.snowpeach06 wrote:1. Done with 1L!

Also... sleep. I'm so excited. And waking up tomorrow and going shopping and not feeling guilty. And cleaning my apartment. Man, the world is awesome.

Got pwned on the property multiple choice and probably stunk it up on the rest of it, but I don't even care. Everyone in the class said the same thing, so I'm taking solace in that...
also, I know I passed, so peace out myleastfavoritelawever...

Re: 1L Exam Prep and Motivation Thread (ROUND 2 SUCKAS)
Done with Contracts and it sucked. I feel better now that I've let it sink in. So. Much. Going. On. (policy, quote the restatements/UCC exactly, use cases, use theory, spot 3,000 issues in 3 hours) and the fact pattern was so confusing. At one point I forgot which party I was talking about, and he literately gave us a contract to analyze. Awful I tell you. Awful. But I had a very scary moment of "flight-or-fight," as a friend of mine put it. Like literately, I read the 4 page fact pattern and when no issues other than 2 or 3 jumped out at me I began to panic. Thankfully, I calmed down and was able to finish, Granted, I'm sure I neglected issues, but I think my class felt the same way so I'm taking solace in this. Would love to stay above median. At least I'm 80% sure I got an A-/B+ in LW2 =D
One more exam next Thursday (Property...which is going to suck even more), and then I want to sleep and party for a week straight until my judicial clerkship starts :D. To hell with 1L. Worst. Semester. Ever.

I think that's why they did it. The new dean's sole goal is to raise our rank, and I think this is a good start. Happier alumni, happier students, ect.keg411 wrote:That is really nice and really makes your school look good for dropping the scholly stipulation BSsnowpeach06 wrote:1. Done with 1L!

In sad news, I'm up at 7:30 the day after finals because I woke up dreaming about Property. Get out of my head law school!

If this was done in reaction to the NYT article (and I'm assuming it at least played some part), then major kudos to the NYT. I would say kudos to your school, but honestly, they shouldn't have had it in the first place, and reacting to something after you've been called out on it shouldn't win you any awards. Anyway, terrific news. Has to take a lot of the edge off of things.snowpeach06 wrote:2. Our new dean is fucking awesome. He instated a new policy that no one can lose their money. Be jealous folks.

I gotta stop going out after each final.
In other news, only one more exam left and I'm done with 1L. Sweet.

i am just like...man..as long as I keep that scholarship, I dont care if I get straigh B+'s...last semester I was gunning for A's
and there is also the occasional moment of "as long as I am above median and keeo 80% of my scholarship..."

+1. My scholly has no grade stipulation (obviously as long as I don't fall passed the "you-can't-graduate" mark), but I think I'm still freaking out about grades and the fact that I don't feel as confident after the exams as I did last semester.....not sure if that's a good sign, while I will admit I was surprised with a couple grades last semester so we'll see.snowpeach06 wrote:Sort of. 3 of 4 done, Conlawl left. Have no idea what is going on or how to study for that test. My prof has flat out said that if all you know is the substantive law and how to make the different tests work you will get a C+ in his class. He wants legal analysis and case comparisons to distinguish the ones that dont work for your side of the case and to find similarities with those that do work. Good thing I barely know the substantive law to begin with, sigh...

i feel pretty bad about my civ pro exam. there were 6 directed questions after the fact pattern, and while i don't THINK any of them really asked for a person jurisdiction analysis, i realized like 30 min after the exam that i didn't talk about minimum contacts ANYWHERE on the exam. since that was a huge part of the class, i feel like i missed some huge issue somewhere.as stars burn wrote:Someone please tell me to quit worrying about how bad my Ks exam sucked.....................
