I've seen this occur recently at a law school with a relatively new journal (entering its third year).

Might also happen when a student focused on one specialty area (e.g., criminal law) makes law review but also wants to work on the criminal law journal.

I thank God everyday that my write on competiton doesn't begin until July 27. Even better, we find out if we made it a week after submitting. Beautiful.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the motivation during write-on! I never thought I'd complete the paper. Just got the offer call for LR this week. Looking forward to picking a topic for the first casenote/ article!

does anyone plan to change their class schedule in light of being accepted onto LR? I am thinking of dropping a couple of creidits to make my life less miserable. any advice?

Made LR a few days ago. It was a late call. After putting in an 11 hour work day, I could only muster "thank you" repeatedly then went back to bed. Reading this thread really makes me realize how huge this achievement is.

Yeah, I dropped down to 12 credits. But I took a bunch of credits over the summer so...you may or may not want to do that.

I'm taking 12 credits. 1 extra with LR makes it 13. I anticipate being a TA for LWR, which it will make 14. If I don't make TA, I'm fine with taking 13, since I'm doing moot court as well.
