How else are you going to construct a bid list, even if you know your %ile.rad law wrote:My school is fucking retarded in that respect and doesn't have that information.Desert Fox wrote: It doesn't matter where you are, but where firms perceive you. Look at GPA sheets from last OCI.

TLS to the rescue! I seriously can't imagine the wealth of information available here compared to just going based on CSO at most schools. It would be like trying to land a passenger aircraft for the first time with no training, hands, eyes, or lungs.Desert Fox wrote:How else are you going to construct a bid list, even if you know your %ile.rad law wrote:My school is fucking retarded in that respect and doesn't have that information.Desert Fox wrote: It doesn't matter where you are, but where firms perceive you. Re: 1L grade waiting thread
Ask 2Ls pretty much. The good thing is no one else has that info either I guess. My grades were good not great first semester, and still managed to snag a solid number of interviews (more than most) in a market where I had no ties. No offer from 1 CB though lawlDesert Fox wrote:How else are you going to construct a bid list, even if you know your %ile.rad law wrote:My school is fucking retarded in that respect and doesn't have that information.Desert Fox wrote: It doesn't matter where you are, but where firms perceive you. Figured out the %tile though. I've heard anecdotally that firms just figure it out, because they have enough info to estimate.
Edit: also TLS, ya

TLS can be helpful but it's entirely anecdotal. One person who interviews bad could tell him to not bid at X firm because they want higher than Y GPA when it's just not true.thesealocust wrote:TLS to the rescue! It would be nice to have access to both TLS and some more empirical data.

I asked for this stuff for 1L LOLCI and the best I could get from the CSO was "maybe one of us can tell you how hard the cutoffs are."Desert Fox wrote: It would be nice to have access to both TLS and some more empirical data.

Rest of my grades are due today. 2 to go. If 1 of them is an A, I likely slide into the top 10%, and my transfer hopes become at least somewhat realistic. If both are As, I'll probably leave work early and get drunk drunk drunk.

C'monnnnnn, UT ... my section hasn't gotten a single grade back. Torts final (half MC) was over a month ago, and the LRW profs have had our briefs for about a zillion years.

Or, you're not actually enrolled in law school and have been dead the whole time, only seeing grades you want to see.Desert Fox wrote:Twist, the next one is a B-FireNextTime wrote:3rd grade in. 3rd A.

3 A's, an A- and a B. Given I had a 4.0 after first semester, not the best, but given I walked out of property and nearly vomited, pretty good. 3.84 cumulative. Top 5% here I come.

Graglia: Brooklyn? You don't sound like you're from Brooklyn. What do you know about Brooklyn? What's this about grenades?
