SecReg this afternoon, Higher Ed Law take-home this weekend, Private Equity drafting assignment next week. The end of my semester is insanely drawn out this year. So jealous of everyone that's finished.

Last final is today
I have to say, so far the finals haven't been that bad, considering the fact that I have not read a case or reading assignment for school IN MONTHS (no exaggeration). Finals are pretty chill when you DGAF.

Finished my last exam yesterday. Planned on partying my face off, but I had a couple beers at a bar and went home, sat on the couch with my gf (who just finished her 1L exams), and watched Always Sunny and drank a couple more beers. Passed out at like 11:00.
Gonna make up for that poor effort yesterday by cracking one open right now.

Honestly I kinda am getting this Estates and Trusts thing ok, I technically have 3 more days to study but the fact that I am kinda ok with it has made me opt to play Fallout 3 for half the day instead. I also am watching both the NBA and NHL playoffs.

Going to finish studying Environmental Law today, take exam tonight. That leaves me 2 days to learn all of First Amendment, take exam Saturday, then 2 days to learn all of M&A, take exam Tuesday. Then I will be done... save for the paper I have to finish by end of the month.

10 AM Saturday in-class final for a 2-credit class that had five students in it. Only two of whom have showed up to the exam room so far. We've had more proctors swing by than students. Lol at this.

I have read many times on this site that law school does a poor job of preparing folks for practice. But do classes like SecReg or Private Equity help, if they are relevant to your practice area? TYIA for any thoughts.keg411 wrote:SecReg this afternoon, Higher Ed Law take-home this weekend, Private Equity drafting assignment next week. The end of my semester is insanely drawn out this year. I mean, it's hard to say because I don't actually practice yet. If you're not in law school yet (although why you'd be posting in the slacker 3L thread I dunno), you're best bet is to just take stuff that you think might be interesting and/or that has an easy curve.hume86 wrote:I have read many times on this site that law school does a poor job of preparing folks for practice. Also, that SecReg exam was a bitch and a half. I don't even know if I wrote real sentences on the written part and the multiple choice was hard as fuck. Basically praying that I pulled off a "B" and I actively studied a lot for it

Took EL exam today, could have been worse considered I learned everything in about 2 days. Two more exams to study for and take before the 9th and I'm exhausted now though. Plus Bulls tonight...

All done. Got my stack of bar prep books and thought my wife had ordered a new microwave. Not even looking at them for 3 weeks.

SecReg was the only exam I've ever taken in my life that made me feel truly shell-shocked. I was convinced I failed, and was praying for a "B." But it turned out to be one of those "the curve giveth" moments, and I wound up with an "A-" that I still don't believe and expect to them to re-grade on me before I graduate. I'm sure everyone else was feeling freaked out by your exam, too, and you'll wind up doing better than you think.keg411 wrote:Also, that SecReg exam was a bitch and a half. I wish I had that luxury. I need every single last credit to graduate. I'm gonna be nervous until grades are posted.Bikeflip wrote:I could fail this final and still graduate.

I was nervous, then I played around with a GPA calculator. Not worth the effort of studying.MSPeast wrote:I wish I had that luxury. I need every single last credit to graduate. I'm gonna be nervous until grades are posted.Bikeflip wrote:I could fail this final and still graduate.

2L gunners on LR vs. my generally mediocre grades in curved classes. I think I'd put money on the 2L gunners on LR (unless they're all taking shit you actually have to study for, in which case, maybe I'll win since all I had to do last week was SecReg).JusticeHarlan wrote:SecReg was the only exam I've ever taken in my life that made me feel truly shell-shocked. Currently in the 12/13th hour of my 48 hour take-home exam (not staying up all night or anything like). Once I'm done with that, I have a project in a 2 credit class and then this shit is over

footnotes always unless they specifically say endnotes. even then, use footnotes and take the slight grade hit. it's fucking 3LOL.Kronk wrote:working on shitlib paper. difficult to continue. are footnotes credited when you have a paper requirement, or do you fucks use endnotes?

Footnotes are standard right? Be sure to space between footnotes. Also, break up long setences into two, and just use id a billion time.Kronk wrote:working on shitlib paper. difficult to continue. are footnotes credited when you have a paper requirement, or do you fucks use endnotes?

century schoolbook adds a couple pages too. it's the official font of the court so you're just keeping it real.
