Pennoyer: irrational fears of 1Ls who did well last semester Forum

Sending you guys <3. I had an exam related nightmare... you know it's bad when finals get into your dreams! My last one is on Wednesday, and there is so much to be done! It's torts, and it's completely open book-- we can bring in commercial outlines, but it's going to be a racehorse exam, so it's not like there will be time to read them.

lol. I know... I just hope my gpa does not go down... I'm happy with that. I took Con Law, Ks and torts in the fall. We had great professors for each class. This semester we were more on our own.

I think it's knowing you have to try harder to do better, and knowing everyone else is trying harder too, which means you trying harder might just keep you in the same place.

That's my fear anyway, that I've worked my ass off this much more this semester and it's for nothing because everyone else did too and counteracted it.

My last exam apparently is so easy that the curve (outliers excepted) is only 5 points, and each issue is separated by paragraph (im not kidding) and he gives us an hour more than is req'd. I am an issue spotter not a public policy person, so praying for a B.

I know my way of having fun may seem weird, but I got home from my final, and I deep-cleaned my house, and I feel soooo good! For the first time since finals started my feet do not get dark by walking around barefoot (eww, I know). I threw away a bunch of papers and my office is neat and clean. I can actually seat on the chair and move around without bumping into books... Law school and I have a love/hate relationship: I love law school, I hate finals... I feel so good and accomplished to know that I have done it.

You'd think that shit would be simple to apply, but the courts have sure managed to fuck it all up real good. Just wait 'til you get to study it. It'll make your head explode.

For example, there are different rules for the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney. If you invoke your right to remain silent, that only applies to the shit they were talking to you about. They can give you a short break and then start talking to you about something else. But if you invoke your right to an attorney, they can't talk to you at all anymore.

This class is just like Con Law, in that you spend four months studying what the law is because nine people (or really, five of those nine) said it should be that way, and that's the whole class.
