I honestly was prepared to be upset with anything less than A-. That may sound entitled, I guess. But I worked my ass off for that class, enjoyed the material and felt really good leaving the exam room.Transpher wrote:Congrats, man, that's awesome.FireNextTime wrote:WOOOOO!

The question is, were you expecting it??
Not that you shouldn't have, but I'm looking for lots of "thought I failed but ended up crushing it" stories.

Con Law: A
I think FireNextTime is in my section, too. Or coincidentally we got our grades at the same time.
GPA bumped to 3.92. I'm prepared to get owned on one or two tests still. I literally had to write an answer for one test in five minutes. Time management fail.
So much for starting the writing competition tonight - this calls for a cold one.

I'd rather wait and savor my last few weeks saying I'm in the top 10%. That badge of honor goes away when spring semester grades come out.

Just got my second to last grade, now even if I get a 3.0 in my last class it looks like I'll have above a 4.0. Its time for models and bottles.

Congrats all! I've gotten 3 grades in, all in some degree lower than my GPA going into this semester, so I'm kind of bummed about that. I'm hoping I killed one of the last 2 exams I'm waiting on and I can stop the bleeding, but I don't have very high hopes for that.

Yeah but you might as well pull down another A+ just for good measure, congrats.lawschooliseasy wrote:Just got my second to last grade, now even if I get a 3.0 in my last class it looks like I'll have above a 4.0. Its time for models and bottles.

Absolutely, my roommate got an elective grade a week after the exam (and was none too pleased with it). I feel like my GPA is on its way down and the longer I can savor the ignorance, the more I can enjoy my summer and pretend 1L never happened.starchinkilt wrote:somewhatwayward wrote:mine can wait as far as i'm concerned.happy187 wrote:jelly of everyone getting grades already. Edit/Rant:
I'm enjoying my first trip overseas and I'm going to end up spending the equivalent of a night in a Hong Kong hotel room in mailing costs for all these law school orgs that need stuff mailed to them. The Finaid office has required that I send them virtually every personal detail of my life, including a biography and 1L reflections, and yet an electronic signature just won't suffice. I was half-tempted to reply to that email requesting that they send a personally signed letter from their office to Hong Kong verifying that their signature request was legitimate. And then law review demands that we send an electronic copy of our writing entry and 4 physical copies by mail. How does that even make sense when they have access to several massive printers? The best part: They require a Friday post-mark AND a Saturday delivery. Is there any apparent reason for this rule other than to see who can blow the most cash on international overnight shipping?

Wow, everyone owned this semester. Congrats y'all
.
Personally, I'm still convinced I'm in for a massive GPA plummet.

Re: 1L grade waiting thread
I remember it being a Law & Development class, but I don't recall the exact title. It was one of those 2L/3L classes made available to 1L's. It was an area of interest for him, but I think he also expected an easier curve. I thought the same but apparently our 1L elective gets the same guidelines as 2L/3L electives so he might have just been up against more experienced exam-takers.somewhatwayward wrote:yikes, was that the regulatory state?Sogui wrote:Absolutely, my roommate got an elective grade a week after the exam (and was none too pleased with it). First grade = A-, I hope this is a positive indicator of the rest of my grades
Sweet, I was not expecting this.

I had Reg State. Pretty sure I did terribly on the exam but was just relieved to be done with that class....somewhatwayward wrote:yikes, was that the regulatory state?Sogui wrote:Absolutely, my roommate got an elective grade a week after the exam (and was none too pleased with it). The Prof sent a 2 page email a few days after the exam detailing how we all messed up on the exam (as a circuit court judge had done...) by not noticing something in the statute that he thought was super important.

YES. Dummies are not objective (in the context of the statute...obviously they can't be objective themselves because they're dummies). Or we weren't supposed to look at dummies at all? I kind of black out exams immediately after I take them so I don't even remember now. That email got trashed fairly quickly...somewhatwayward wrote:^

Re: 1L grade waiting thread
I got an A on my Property 2 exam. This was seriously the one class I was worried about. I walked out of the exam an hour early. I figured the exam was really easy or I missed something big and bombed the exam. Thankfully it was just easy.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
