Managers at firms? Even for 2Ls from T14 it can take weeks to get an acknowledgement...if you get one at all.

How necessary is it to apply right on 12/1? Could I wait until the middle or end of December when i'm finished with finals to start worrying about applying?

APPLY ASAP ! A Lot of firms I know and have ties with don't accept even the MOST stellar resumes if you did not apply on time.

I think he's picking on you because it's been four hours since you sent your email and you're surprised you haven't heard back yet. It's your impatient naivete that makes it funny.

You are on the path of sending too many follow up emails and getting soundly dinged. Not getting a reply within the first day /== getting ignored. Wait a week. 1) I wrote on that thread because I noticed that other people were getting replies, not because I was upset at people in this thread and decided to take my grievances elsewhere. I admit I am a little naive in some ways, too bad if that upsets you.

2) Believe it or not, I don't send out 1000+ follow up emails.

1L's -- if a 2L who's been there and is offering playful nudge that your concerns are silly, just listen. We have been through all the stuff you are going through and sometimes the best way to help is through ridicule. Nobody here wants you to fail.
