1L grade waiting thread Forum

Earlier today I received my first grade!!!! A+ in torts!!! Woot Woot! I left that test feeling like I scored a B-/C+.

Hopefully this is an omen for my other classes... I pretty much left with the thought that my 1st semester grades would be straight C's with a B in one or two classes.

Question: I'm still in shock over my grade. Is there any chance it is a mistake? I keep expecting to get an email/apology about inserting the wrong grade.

Me too. But I also think I'm trying to convince myself that that's the case, so I'm prepared if that's actually what happens. If I'm dreading the worst, whatever I grades I do get won't be disappointing.

at my school, we have a remedial section called "section 9" that we can be placed into if we don't do well our first semester (there are 8 main sections for classes). we all joke about making section 9, but i think it's really indicative about how unsure everyone is about our grades.

take my torts exam. it was super easy, and everyone i talked to spotted the same issues and analyzed the same facts the same way, but all that means is that the difference between an A and a B are less than a handful of points.

That sounds embarrassing. If I did really badly, I would NOT want everyone to know about it.

We thankfully have year long classes, so if it was bad, I do have next semester to try to fix it.

All this "inverse relation" stuff really makes me freak out. I felt like I nailed Civ Pro. Yesterday when I walked into my torts exam, I felt like I was going to vomit...and the first ten minutes were literally just spent trying to find something to talk about. When I left, I felt like I could get an A.

Maybe I am just over-confident..and when I get my grades I will look like this:

The only class I KNOW I messed up on was crim, and I'm usually pretty good with guessing my grades, especially when I feel like "they will either love this or hate this"---its always true. It ends up being an A or a C. With torts, I feel like "he will either love this, or throw it into the median pile" which is fine by me! throw me into the median pile!! Amazing how much standards lowered once finals started

so yeah, I think that I have to be wrong about how I did, because if I'm right, it woul dgive me 3 A's and whatever I get on crim. Does anyone get 3 A's in the same semester in law school?? Is this possible? If it is, I am surely not "that" kind of crazy intelligent. and thus...I'm wrong about something!

Very possible. My mentor booked/AMJUR/CALI'd (whatever your particular University calls it), three of the four main classes her first semester. (civ pro, torts, contracts) Just crazy smart. (crim law went to the other girl in her study group )

I just hope DF gives me a good rating when I desperately post pictures in search for approval after I get my bottom 10% con law grade

I'm so beyond fucked.

Missed a pretty big issue on my K's exam, probably doomed to a B.

Crim was a theory-laden joke. I'll be lucky to have a B.

Civ Pro actually turned out to be not as horrible as I thought, which only means I may not have gotten a C.

I blazed through the last question and a half of my torts exam with ten minutes left. I could get an A or a C and wouldn't be surprised.


So I get to go out into the job market with unimpressive grades from an unimpressive T1. Fuck me.

Oh, and I won't find out grades until February.
