Fair enough. Want some free highlighters?
I got the thick fat ones and fine-line. Well I will, duh.

Re: School supplies
I'm just wondering whether I can get this leather chair out the front door and onto the bus without getting caught.

The question isn't getting caught, the question is without ruining the leather. Not getting caught is easy.

Re: School supplies
Highlighters, pens, pencils.
Binders, tabs, clips, stapler.
3 hole punch.
The best thing I bought all year that I never expected to buy:
Plastic thing that sits on the desk and holds the book up at a nearly vertical pitch. Easy on the eyes, easy on the work area and neighborly relations, and very, very easy on the neck.
Oh, and did we decide that Bilko is a complete asshole, or are we just pretending that he is cursed with a childish sense of humor having been caught being a complete asshole?

You know, I was going to write the exact same thing before reading this, except that mine is metal wire instead of plastic. Best $5 purchase of the year. Neck-saver, back-saver and time-saver during the outlining process. The best thing I bought all year that I never expected to buy:

I work at an AIDS serving organization.
I plan on stealing hundreds of condoms.
My rationalization: who cares, I'm getting laid.

Dssinc, I think the latter. Douche.
And Still, you can't credit your own answer. Douche.
EDIT: How come only an alt/troll is allowed to flame post? For some reference, in case you missed it, reread the first post. Boxes of paper, ha.

Where does one get one of those fancy book holder-upper things, and what are they called?

I've actually been trying to build a perfect one of these since I was about 10. Total nerd, I know. Are these strong enough to hold casebooks without falling over every time you try to turn the page?NewHere wrote:You know, I was going to write the exact same thing before reading this, except that mine is metal wire instead of plastic. Re: School supplies
I bought mine at the university bookstore, which is a Barnes and Noble, so perhaps every Barnes and Noble sells them.
I don't know what they're called, so I had to describe the thing clumsily to the seller. They had two types: one transparent plastic and big, I think intended for cookbooks, the other foldable from metal wire. I have the latter ($5) and it's strong and adjustable enough to be used with any casebook. (And my ConLaw casebook this semester must have been the biggest casebook in existence.) And because it's foldable, it takes up no space in a backpack. As I said: best investment of $5 this year.

That looks fancy, dssinc. This is mine and it's also available online, apparently. (Nerdy thread of the week; compare your book stand.)

A sadder and truer thing was never said. Beats talking about wheelie backpacks, I guess, or studying for Crim Law for the 9000th hour...(Nerdy thread of the week; compare your book stand.)

Heh, I know, M2. I was just trying to change the topic oh so many days ago.
Although, I'm not sure this is true for those of us going to more rural areas for school...then again, I assume the school would have covered. I guess this actually does warrant further research!
