4 credits of LRW? In one semester? That's bogus.

But how could people write better papers than him if he has an A- average in other classes? Seems unlikely.NotMyRealName09 wrote:People wrote better papers than you.

Are you suggesting a flash mob?PeanutsNJam wrote:1L grades are so important. Since your professor screwed up you can get him on malpractice just hire a lawyer. Try to get as much public attention as possible, since law professors shouldn't be permitted to do this kind of shit.
Rpupkin is not giving bad advice. Law professors screw up too much someone needs to do something about it.
One student going to administration never does much, but 10? 20? Try to post on facebook about it.
Because that sounds awesome.....but only if they have some sort of dance routine they could do in front of the administration building.

Yes but "schadenfraud" sounds like it could be a great portmanteau - the thrill of watching someone else fail from fraudulent advice you or someone else gave.stego wrote:You know neither what schadenfreude is nor how to spell it.Gifted Hands wrote:'rpupkin wrote:Sounds like BS. Not that anyone is doing that here of course.
OP: you gotta fight for your rightful grade or it'll have to sit. Informal/Rule-of-Thumb "statute of limitations" on these things at most schools is until the start of the next semester. If you don't fight it til then, then the grade stays.
This is incidentally why some law schools don't release Fall grades until well after the Spring semester starts. It's definitely not because law professors can't work up the willpower to quickly read 30-100 shitty essays by self-entitled people who don't know what they're talking about.
eta: holy shit "schadenfraud" is already a thing

Did you happen to use lots of metaphors in your legal writing? Perhaps your LRW instructor has moderate autism like I do and thus takes everything literally. That could explain the outlier grade in LRW.

I don't know what this word means, but (a) yes, you're being trolled, if that's what you meant; and (b) I'm going to make up a definition for this and use it.Gifted Hands wrote: i can't tell if this is shadenfraud
But this did not sound like schadenfreude.
ETA a serious answer:
Of course your LRW grades can be significantly different than all your other grades. It's a totally different skill set than literally all other 1L classes. Mine was .5 below my non-LRW GPA.

Re: FUCK LRW
After receiving an unsatisfactory grade in one class, I drafted a complaint titled "RonanOGara v. Professor _______" and argued for me to receive a higher grade. I supported my position with legal authority. I sent this professor the complaint and informed him he had 14 days to file an answer or simply raise my grade. It worked.

I suspected Gifted Hands was flame and now you've confirmed it. Nicely played over the past few days. Took it a teensy bit too far with this one though.

Well, I just got told at a a social event to all the other interns that I would make the best plaintiff's atty and he would give me a glowing recommendation based on my personality. I have not even turned an assignment in yet. this was said after I left. how much more brown-nosing should I do with this guy? and should I ask him to contact my LRW teacher? this is like an important person at the office

Definitely bring this up when you go over your paper with your LRW Prof. They need to understand it is about the big ideas presented and not the nuts and bolts.Gifted Hands wrote:

Coincidentally, this is the title of my case note.

Gifted Hands is kind of like DaRascal without the acute sociopathy. I'm getting bored of the flame.
