Yes. PTA was ridiculous. If I get a 50 on PTA and a 65 on PTB, I will be ecstatic. PTB was much much better for me, but still probably only wrote 6-7 pages of text (13k characters).ajax adonis wrote:I hear this too. I don't know why, but I personally thought the first half was pretty cake, and the second half was moderately difficult.Void wrote:Count me in. I felt like the first half of the MBE was very difficult and the second half was very easy, so I really have no clue how I did but leaning towards fail. Top 15% at T2. I have a job but it's bar passage contingent. Anxious as fuck.
Anyone else who took the CA bar still nervous because of the PTs? I will be ecstatic to get a 60 on both of them.

Still no NC results, which is strange since they were supposedly sent out on Friday. Hopefully they are not in two batches. I'm only about 80 miles from Raleigh.

Apparently Kansas just released their results. I wonder if they release raw/scaled MBE. I really want to see the curve.

I'm glad to hear other states' results are starting to go out. My state should be soon if history is any guide. I'm sure I'll bump up my page refresh from 2 or 3 times a day to 20 times a day this coming week.

Someone is claiming they got their score back from Wisconsin with a 141 raw and a 157 scaled: http://all4jds.com/FORUMS/aft/21695.aspx
That would be an incredibly high curve.

That's barely different than prior examinations (2011: 141 raw = 155 scaled)Royal wrote:Someone is claiming they got their score back from Wisconsin with a 141 raw and a 157 scaled: http://all4jds.com/FORUMS/aft/21695.aspx

Re: bar results waiting thread
it is unclear to me. i THINK not, however, based on some conversations with a guy that runs a site devoted to the NY bar. but it wasn't clear to me.rad lulz wrote:Does each state scale the same way?
but i think the differences are likely minimal
that's from the seperac guy. if that's true, then the scale in ny is determined solely by prior MBE questions, which is always what made me think people freaking out about the test being "way harder" this administration was not true. The MBE scale in NY is based on how well all the New York examinees for that administration did on the 60 question mini-test of prior questions embedded in the MBE. Likewise, the NY essay scale is based on the MBE mean and standard deviation of the New York candidates only. Basically, the raw scores (0 to 10) assigned by each reader are converted to standard scores having a mean of 50 and a standard deviation of 10. Thus, the mean and spread of these standard scores are the same for each reader and for each essay question. The average of a candidate’s essay scores (expressed as standard scores) is computed, and the distribution of these averages is then converted to common-scale values in the same way the NYMC raw scores were converted to common-scale values having the same mean and standard deviation (a measure of variability) as those New York candidates earned on the MBE. For example, if the mean common-scale value for the New York candidates on the MBE is 680, the mean common scale value for these candidates on the essay component is also 680. Accordingly, without knowing the mean and standard deviation that New York candidates earned on the MBE for that administration, there is no way to accurately determine the essay scale.

That was one of the bigger curves. Previous July put a 141 raw at 153. http://admissions.calbar.ca.gov/Portals ... 201207.pdf5ky wrote:That's barely different than prior examinations (2011: 141 raw = 155 scaled)Royal wrote:Someone is claiming they got their score back from Wisconsin with a 141 raw and a 157 scaled: http://all4jds.com/FORUMS/aft/21695.aspx

I thought that the MBE curve was nationwide, though. Could be wrong.

According to the WI website the scores should have come out Sept. 3 so it is definitely possible that someone has their WI score

Re: bar results waiting thread
No scores at all. West Virginia posts the "unofficial results" on their website by seat number and only state whether you passed or failed. Official scores were mailed today and they will have a breakdown of the scores. I don't know if they break it down to scaled/raw but once I get them I'll post it here for anyone who is interested.
Thanks for the congrats!
