Merritt's Casebook is so easy to read that students not assigned this casebook should get it instead anything else (including what ever casebook they are assigned) http://www.amazon.com/Learning-Evidence ... l+evidence
BAD SUPPLEMENTS
Criminal Procedure

Re: The Supplements Thread
Dressler's Understanding Criminal Procedure is really comprehensive and good. Really great at breaking down some of the more difficult parts of criminal procedure and ties in a lot of policy for more theoretical professors. I've heard people say that their profs recommended it for anyone who needed an outside resource. Also, I'm pretty sure that there were only a couple of cases I read in class that weren't discussed in the hornbook, so it's a good resource if you can't figure out the significance of a particular case.Crim Pro recommendations?

For secured, use Mastering Secured Transactions and Gilbert's (but especially Mastering).drmguy wrote:Any recommendations for securities regulation, secured transactions, or antitrust?

I thought the E&E was alright. The Sum and Substance audio CDs were great, in my opinion.nmcdgt wrote:Can anyone corroborate this? Is it better than the E&Ewaxecstatic wrote:For evidence, I used Emanuel's and got an A-. I didn't use the textbook for studying before the final.

Anyone have any suggestions for an Immigration Law supplement? We are using Aleinikoff's "Immigration and Citizenship" casebook...

Lots of people suggest chirelstein, but I didn't find it very useful. I liked the E&E.InGoodFaith wrote:So was anything useful for anyone in Contracts?

ditto on that assessment of chirelstein. i found the remedies section to be particularly goood as well as the 2-3 pages on breach when it makes sense (i already forget the term).drmguy wrote:Lots of people suggest chirelstein, but I didn't find it very useful. My fellow supplement Mavens:
I got the 5th ed. of Dressler's Understanding Crim. (2010 I think) but there is a new 6th ed. Did anything major happen in Criminal law in the intervening years? Should I go out and get this new edition or what?

Communications / Media Law? I've only seen the nutshell and the Zuckman treatise (which seems like overkill).

Bump for question.
Taking a course on complex litigation (class actions, overlapping litigation, MMTJA/AWA/AIA, etc.), and really having trouble finding any type of supplement that is relevant. Any suggestions?

Likewise. I like Acing Contracts. But it's still early in the semester, so who knows.drmguy wrote:Lots of people suggest chirelstein, but I didn't find it very useful.InGoodFaith wrote:So was anything useful for anyone in Contracts?
Can anyone recommend audio other than Whaley's for contracts? I'm a big fan of Sum & Substance - civ pro, torts, and con law are all great. But this guy is seriously terrible - he goes too fast and doesn't break it down.

I echo the E&E. Thing that helped me most though wasn't supps but looking very closely at the Rest. and UCC and seeing how they matched up or differed.InGoodFaith wrote:So was anything useful for anyone in Contracts?
