Did poorly in a one credit class... How bad is it? Forum

Don't worry about it. I got a B- in LRW my first semester (2 credits), but I still ended up with a good GPA because of my grades in my other classes. No employer commented on it when I was looking for a 1L summer job, and only one employer said anything about it during OCI, and he seemed to be fine with the explanation that I learned from my mistakes and did better the following semester.

I'm a 1L and this semester I did something that normally only happens to people in nightmares: I slept through my alarm and missed a Legal Research quiz worth 10% of my grade. The quiz was a five minute MC quiz given at the beginning of class, and I showed up halfway through class and the prof wouldn't let me take it. I just got my research grade back and it's a B-. It's a 1 credit class at my school (legal writing is 2 credits). So far the only other grade I have received back is an A- in torts. I have no idea how I did on my other exams, and I expect to get an A-/B+ in legal writing based on my first memo and class participation. Assuming I don't get anything below a B in my substantive classes, how bad will it look that I got a B- in legal research? Am I totally screwed? Get A-s or above in your substantive classes and no one will care otherwise. I hoap you're busier applying to judges than worrying about the 1 credit on your transcript. Your cumulative GPA is what goes on the resume, so the 1 cred B- is negligible.

Thanks! Really appreciate it Now I just have to wait and see if I managed to pull of A-'s or better in my other classes...
