After working 40-50 hour weeks for a few years, I feel at a loss with all of this "free time". And yeah, whenever you tell someone you're in law school they look at you like you're holy.

I'm doing something seriously wrong...

My favorite:

The ~$20,000 GradPLUS loan that's deposited into my bank account (2 payments of ~$10,000.) I'll be looking at my bank account, eating Peanut Butter & Jelly, and feel really rich. :D

Believing that you are on top of your work and everything is going awesome and then being assigned a huge legal writing assignment.

SO AWESOME!

Fair point. Although, I still have to pay the same amount of tuition if I don't milk those free lunches.

That's correct, tuition is sunk cost and shouldn't be considered. Better get that idea right before contracts exam, or any other class heavy on law and economics.

I must have the wrong friends; my circle pities me because I was obviously too dumb to do med/enginnering/etc. After a year and a half of it, I'm starting to even believe it's true.

Take comfort, my friend. As much as we idealize medicine on this forum, it isn't a path paved with gold. A lot of people go half a million dollars (or more!) into debt to get an MD.

Even if you're paying sticker at the most expensive law school in the country your law school debt is extremely far off from $500,000.

The man does have a family to take care of, so he could be including indirect COL loans + interest.

lol food good (but pizza gets tiring), Lexis/WestLaw stuff, cheaply made. But I do like the (cheaply made) mug with my school logo on it.

Best thing about law school for me - working with clients 3 weeks in.

Free beer and more parties. I'm happy I found friends that also think this is the best part of law school so far.

Interesting. I'm definitely going to be doing some pro bono stuff also. Three weeks in just seems really early.

Most people don't sign up for this one, because time demand is high. We have fixed weekly shift at legal aid office. We don't really offer any legal advice. Non-attorney advocates just assist in general matters, I did before as an unemployment compensation advocate. We will actually not learn anything in 1L year that would better prepare us for this now or next spring, since the core classes don't really deal with this process.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
