Vastly different skill sets required.theantiscalia wrote:I don't mean to be a dick, but if you're doing that badly at a low-ranked law school, I'd seriously question your ability to pass the bar, especially in California. And if you went for the accounting degree, I'd question your ability to pass the CPA exam, which has a pass rate notoriously lower than the bar.

Run. It's hard enough to get a job in the non-law field. Say being a lawyer fell through. It would be even harder to get an non-law job with a JD, since a common perception is that you would be overqualified. In addition to this, the hiring manager may assume that either you aren't good at being a lawyer and can't hack it or that you would take any opportunity that comes available to get back into the law field. Do something else. Sorry it didn't work out.

Outside of law...nothing but a poli sci undergrad degree and telemarketing for a year(only thing worse was prob 1l year, but that's a toss up). I dont hate law, I also definitely don't love law. I could do it and be fine, but I'd be perfectly happy leaving if there was some other option.
Debating going back to school and getting a masters in accounting, maybe an mba or....
Oh other factor...I'm probably getting married soon and my wife to be will be making a decent salary by the time I graduate, enough to pay all our bills so 100 % of my income could go to law loans
Stay in school and then marry the girl and ditch her with your debt. HTH
