I don't know about your situation, but I've walked out of 2 tests positive I had "failed" (or at least C'ed) them on a B curve. On one I got an A- and the other I got a B+
One of them was my crim law test first semester of 1L year. I literally studied "attempted ____" so hard I forgot what it actually meant. I walked out of the test positive I had failed that thing -- I must have spent a third of the test time on about 1/10th of the questions. But turns out everyone else was confused, too.

Remember the general rule is if the test was difficult, it was difficult for everyone.

I didn't answer one question on a four question exam once...and I got an A.

Loads better than a failing grade. Glad to hear it turned out better than you'd expected.
