Ouch. Last year DOJ interview spots were available well after it first opened.

The lack of open spots for the NYU fair concerns me. I don't need a job from the fair, but if this is an indication of how competitive things have become, then it seems like we might be worse off than the c/o 2012? I really hope this is not the case...

Spots might still open up. There's another day and a half of free sign-up. You're probably thinking nobody will drop the 'good' interviews, but you never know. People who have other job offers may be canceling their interviews.

This. I just snagged a cool free sign-up interview after being persistent all evening.

log into the PILC website and click on organizations. under organizations, click on list orgs accepting free sign-up. right now there aren't many but a couple of hours ago there were a good 5 spots for different orgs so it may change from now until the 9th. good luck!

If it says (0) it means there aren't any available spots at the moment, but they're eligible for free sign-up in the event people pull out.

I second that. I kept refreshing constantly, and over the past 24 hours have been able to snag 3 highly sought after interviews through free sign up. Admittedly, I have probably spent more time refreshing than I should.

I got two free interview slots today. Pretty much just sat there for an hour refreshing the page and searching for (1). For anyone reading this next year, a lot of additional slots were popping up in the few hours before the deadline to cancel interviews. Don't assume because you didn't see any on the first day, they won't be there later on. If I had kept refreshing the page last night I would have two more interviews right now.

I saw some free sign-up slots show up for organizations I am on the waitlist for. I guess it didn't automatically put me in the slot? One of the free interview slots I got was with an organization I was wait-listed for, it took me off the wait list when I took the slot, but it counted against my two sign ups.

got 2 more interviews for free sign up - not great ones, but still, practice is good.

now i'm up to 5, with 3 waitlist. here's hoping people keep dropping out!
