I'm in better shape. Haven't weighed myself, but as a skinny guy who goes to the gym 5x/week, I've probably gained a couple of pounds. I'm lifting more than I did 2 months ago and intend maintain my gym habits throughout the year.

Re: How has your Body Changed....
last year: worked a BS job I hated, felt very unproductive/stale in life, no motivation to work out/eat healthy
this year: busting my ass in law school, have goals/ambitions, feel productive, because of this, I have the motivation to go jogging 6 times a week, go to the gym 3 times a week, eat healthy, etc...
so in general, I feel WAY better now than I did a year ago, both intellectual stimulation wise, and health wise(losing weight, building strength), guess it's another benefit of working a crappy job before law school, as opposed to coming right out of undergrad

I went through that BIGTIME in 1L.Pizon wrote:Maybe this speaks more to how my mind has changed, but picking up on your second point I find myself looking at everything in life from a more analytical perspective. All those judicial opinions applying legal reasoning to every decision have me programmed to make personal choices less on feel and more on what I objectively deem to be reasonable.
Two years later....some of it has faded, and some of it has just become incorporated into my DNA.

Down 15lbs and my strength is down, however I do "look" better because I have more definition.
I think my body hates me though. I eat super healthy 5 of 7 days, and usually binge eat/eat unhealthy on the weekends.

Re: How has your Body Changed....
I gained 20 pounds in law school and lost a ton of muscle. I can probably count the number of times I worked out during law school on my fingers.
Lost 16 of those pounds my first year of practice. I actually have time/motivation to work out now. My BMI is even better than when I left college, got my muscle definition back and more. I think my physical health definitely reflected the toll that law school took on me mentally.

3lbs of muscle.
Then again, I work out 3x a week and have excellent nutrition.
I have definitely seen how people gain weight - free pizza every day, high-calorie 'energy bars', drinking, and general consumption of high calorie foods seems to be the norm.
Packing a lunch and easy/quick dinners are tcr.

Re: How has your Body Changed....
I still manage to lift four times a week (like I was doing before LS). My diet actually got a lot cleaner since I eat at home much more than I did before LS. I did lose weight though (5'10 and dropped from 180ish to 173ish), which I'm not thrilled about. I was hoping to actually get up to around 190 by the end of the school year, but living on a student food budget makes it hard.

Re: How has your Body Changed....
wait, so you just used this thread as an excuse to talk about your gains and to post a douchey self-pic? And not only that, but you took the time to take said douchey pic in the middle of the gym? Ok, so you gained a good amount of muscle. You're still small. And you're not in law school.M.M. wrote:5'8 130 to..

Re: How has your Body Changed....
You're not helping your case. I'm mad because I was interested in how people are dealing with their first year, not seeing some little doucher try to boost his tiny little ego. You might be the most jacked dwarf in the gym, but you're still small. So go back to your bodybuilding forums (you know, where you're supposed to post stuff like this), and leave the grown-up law talk to the grown-ups.M.M. wrote:U mad most of my lifts have been rated elite or highly advanced for my weight ?beachbum wrote:wait, so you just used this thread as an excuse to talk about your gains and to post a douchey self-pic? Oh and @ the other guy I don't intend to help my case especially since I knew I'd get flamed (as you can see by looking at what I said below in my initial post).
Haters will hate, it's ok. You asked for change I gave it to you don't be mad coz you're a little weak ass. You can tell the people who are mad coz I look like this from the people who appreciate achievement from the ones who congratulated / mock hated me and people like you lolz
