No. A lot of us are in this boat. But it is early, and keep in mind that most of us have only scratched the surface in our core classes. I think the supplements could help synthesize material once it starts piling on. At least that's kinda what I'm thinking.
Yeah I am only halfway through week 2, so you're probably right. I just keep reading posts on TLS about supplements and outlining, and people are in study groups and I keep feeling like I'm completely missing something because the workload is large and challenging but not really confusing at all, yet. Maybe I just suck at preparation.
Yeah, I definitely feel the same way. Generally, I find that most things that we're reading may take a while to process/synthesize but they make sense overall. Nothing too crazy yet. Definitely not sure if this is normal or if I'm completely missing major points and thus giving myself a false sense of security.

I love legal writing. It's my second favorite class so far, behind contracts.

Mine is LW and research combined. We have yet to write anything. We're only doing workbook / ICW exercises. We have 3 or 4 assignments due every class that are pure busywork and have done really nothing to prepare us for the research paper getting assigned tomorrow.

They love to tell us how different legal writing is, but they've done absolutely nothing to show us how it is different or to help us learn how to write in that style.

Not one goddamn thing.

Whereas I don't understand the reading at all, but my professor actually makes things clear.

I won't lie- I wouldn't understand most of it either if it weren't for my little pocket-edition friend here:

(The cover reminds me of Dark Side of the Moon, which is weirdly appropriate)

Our Civ Pro book just sucks. It's very poorly written. I don't have any trouble understanding the stuff when my professor talks. I've cracked the E&E a couple times, but mostly I just listen to him.

It's just a giant list of rules that govern the how and the what. Once you break it down to that, it's fairly simple.

My class is the opposite. I get the casebook and then my prof goes into gibberish mode and half of the questions he ask make no sense (even though they're in the casebook and I highlighted them). I thought I was massively missing something but I got some clarification from my sis and her bf and I am on the right track after all. I do know I'm still looking at things way too simplistically, but I wanted to make sure that I was at least understanding what the rules/application were in the cases.

I still hate CivPro, though. I really need to hit up office hours in that class.

1. I did not think I would struggle with LWRAP as much as I have, but the class is moving quickly and I think everyone else is too so that's good.

2. I have a weird mix of professors. One (civ pro) does a beautiful job of clearing up very complicated issues and is funny. I write down almost everything he says in class, and i'm pretty good at sifting through worthless info. The other takes simple concepts you think you understand just fine reading the case, and makes you dizzy with confusion by the end of class, but he's funny too. One is the nicest person alive I think, but is difficult to figure out exactly what the relevant information is from each case. Another is probably the second nicest person alive and drills straight to the point every class. Weird polarization, but they're all great.

3. Supplements have been fairly redundant and mostly useless so far, a "unique approach" feels less and less useful every day.
