Best bag ever, made lugging around a whole bunch of German existentialism much easier. Really good zippers. Plus an excellent warranty program.

I was also able to find a 30% off coupon (WOOT30) floating around the forum the other day. Hope this helps all those still looking.

Feasible? Can you put books in it? Can you put your laptop in it? Then yes, it is feasible.clint4law wrote:bumpclint4law wrote:are messenger bags feasible?

I recommend this backpack. Its made of top quality American cowhide, so you can be sure the product will last longer, look better and carry the burden without showing much wear and tear.
It has easy access zipper pockets for paperwork and smaller side pockets for electronics.
Leather strip comes with equipped with a cell phone clip for comfort on the go.
Right now its on sale for $345, which is actually a good value for the quality of material you are getting. Its italian designer made bag, but its practicable and good leather never goes out of fashion.
In short, buy it to last you your extended 3 year hiatus. bargain compared to what you pay in tuition and books.
Go ahead, spoil yourself a bit. Everybody else is enjoying your money, enjoy it yourself a little with this bag.

Going to keep with my trusty Swiss Army backpack. It's also nice that it goes with my new school's colors.

FYI, ebags.com is having a 20% sale + free shipping until the 14th. And you can sort backpacks by your laptop model number to see only the ones that would fit your computer.

I'd rather have a bag I can beat the crap out of without worrying about it's cost.

Is that laminated plyboard or solid wood? Also, are the casters plastic or metal w/rubber wheels? If I'm going to dump the $$, I want quality. So it's this or the $350 leather bag.LoyolaLaw2012 wrote:RUQRU wrote:Not really. This is guaranteed 100% old growth wood taken from a national park. Also there are some recycled parts used to fabricate the wheels (think supermarket).Mr. Matlock wrote:Is that laminated plyboard or solid wood? Also, are the casters plastic or metal w/rubber wheels? I was sad that I had missed this sale since I'm looking for a new bag but I went on their site and it was actually extended until today for all interested.
edit: it looks like the sale ended while I was one the site...

I second the North Face backpacks. I have had one for three years and not a single broken zipper or seam, and I am really hard on my stuff.

I will have to take this into consideration. They're awfully expensive, but if they are quality packs, they might be worth it. My last backpack has begun to tear a bit and it was around $100.Eruannon wrote:I second the North Face backpacks. Look around at zappos.com. They have a lot of the north face backpacks for around 100 dollars. They have great customer service and a liberal returns policy(plus free shipping both ways).GettingReady2010 wrote:I will have to take this into consideration.
