If you think Open Book tests are easier, you're doing it wrong. If you're doing a good job on the test, you won't have time to read your notes anyway.

Re: How to handle closed book exams
To echo what the regulars in here said more or less: I too do better on closed book exams because it gives you more incentive to MEMORIZE your outline during exam prep. Make your own outline using a synthesis of class notes and upperclassmen outlines FOR THAT PROF, just as would in prepping for an open book exam. Then provided you understand everything in the outline, begin to memorize it PAGE BY PAGE. Literally go through it and recite (out loud if need be) every line, then go back again and look at just the headings reciting lines from memory. Spaced repetition is the key to forming long term memories. So go on to page two, but go back to page one between cycles. Then onto page three. You want to be a walking encyclopedia but the info you are using, however, is limited to only what is in your outline, which should be done well before the active memorization stage takes place (as vanwinkle noted, you will naturally make some passive memorization gains while you are constructing the outline as well).

There's no how to it. Not doing a single reading and zero hours of studying does wonders for your exammanship.lawyerhopefull wrote:your jokeing right? How'd you do if serious?

lawschools not that hard, people just like to pretend it is to have a "battle story" latter(and they like to pretend life is hard for a "woe is me" moment) Think about it, even "horrible" T4's only have a 30% attrition rate and that is the "worst" ones out there. That means your are almost a sure bet to graduate even from them, and even more so if you walk in the door in an T1. Basicly you show up, dont kill yourself, and you get the degree....BFD.

Perhaps but not everyone is happy with just making it. Some people, like myself, think that if you are going to put money and time into it you must as well strive for the freaking A.

Yes, but if you actually want a job when you'd graduate, you'd better do a hell of a lot better than bottom half of the class, especially if you're at a lower-tier school. Since most people going to law school are doing it to find a job, law school is actually hard work for most students.lawyerhopefull wrote:lawschools not that hard, people just like to pretend it is to have a "battle story" latter(and they like to pretend life is hard for a "woe is me" moment) Think about it, even "horrible" T4's only have a 30% attrition rate and that is the "worst" ones out there. It doesn't warrant a ban. But when you've read this thread, you're sure to get a guttural reaction from his/her posts as a whole. Guttural reaction is generally indicative of future banhammer. Wikipedia sure is an exhaustive source of definitions. Now while I agree that I may have used it incorrectly, I've heard it used as a synonym for harsh or abrasive. Thanks for looking out.d34dluk3 wrote:You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.seespotrun wrote:It doesn't warrant a ban.
