Re: 1L grade waiting thread
If you spoke with the same lady I spoke with, she basically told me that for 1L summer, I should get a firm job or bust. She didn't even ask me what I wanted to do with my degree. But no research assistant, no judicial externship, just a firm. It was turrible, as Sir Charles would say.Kilpatrick wrote:They asked me what I wanted to do with a JD and I said 'get a job.' They asked me to be more specific and I said 'one that pays money.' So they told me being an RA would be a bad idea because I wouldn't get enough variety of experience to figure out my future or something.

Finally! Three grades today (no LRW or Crim yet):
Civ Pro: A
Torts: A
K's: A
99% sure LRW will be an A (we got all our memo grades back with grade ranges), and I felt good about Crim as well. Pardon me while I drink myself silly.

An LSAT 10 points over median will do that. Splitting the other way is probably a bad sign.keg411 wrote:Wow. Way to clean up.Encyclopedia Brown wrote:Finally! Three grades today (no LRW or Crim yet):

Yeah, I was disappointed at first but I can still get where I want to be after second semester. I was one grade increment off in all of my predictions, fucking pain in my ass (got an A- instead of a A, etc.).keg411 wrote: Glad you're happy and at least close to where you want to be.

I'm not gonna post my grades specifically, but Thank GOD for TLS. That's all I have to say.
Oh, and E&E's. Thank god for those too.

I only have 1/4 of my grades! It's total BS too. Why would profs not want to get their grading done before the next semester starts? I just don't get it.

Not that I've been an avid participator on this thread, but I needed somewhere to share my grades, and I was happy to see how well everyone else has been doing (and to those who didn't do as well as they wanted, you'll kick butt next semester).

Huh. Contracts grade got raised due to a clerical error. If WUSTL didn't use a total numerical average-of-finals GPA system, this actually would have extremely effected my GPA since I was on a grade cutoff. But eh, I'll take what I can get.

Thinking about it, but I am really happy. I'm at a school in the 50's, but it's the best school in the city. It's a hard call for me.solotee wrote:transferring?hds2388 wrote:Not that I've been an avid participator on this thread, but I needed somewhere to share my grades, and I was happy to see how well everyone else has been doing (and to those who didn't do as well as they wanted, you'll kick butt next semester).

Meh. I'm not going to post my grades, but could be better, could be worse.
Mathematically, making it much better is certainly possible for the next semester.

Go out and eat some Grade A beef, buy an Oakland A's jersey, and watch the movie Easy A while you are at it, since the title makes it sound like it is based on you anyway.hds2388 wrote:Not that I've been an avid participator on this thread, but I needed somewhere to share my grades, and I was happy to see how well everyone else has been doing (and to those who didn't do as well as they wanted, you'll kick butt next semester).

Hey, you had GDG right? Was that clerical error specific to you or did it apply to the whole section? I made an appt to talk to him about mine.

Re: 1L grade waiting thread
The rumor has percolated through the class that grades will be coming out Thursday. The waiting is starting to make me a little sick. What does a median student a middle of the pack T1 do?
