Finally finished reading. I'm working on an outline of my essay now. I have until Monday at 5 but its only a 6-10 page paper so it shouldn't be too bad.

Finishing up the paper tonight, redoing the footnotes, and making final rounds of edits. Due tomorrow at 5.

+1. I realized after submitting it that nearly all the examples provided on the website were chalk full of sub-titles and sub-sub titles. Mine just had two sections with headings (8 pages). While I got lucky on brief writing, I do not get the organizational principles behind legal writing.

Of all the students I have talked to so far (~5), I am the only one who actually completed it. One of the journals extended their deadline for submitting the extra materials they require (application/resume). I get the feeling that this isn't as competitive (at least for journals) as they made it out to be.

seems that way for my school too since they gave us 20 days to complete 10 pages but gave the write on packet right after the last final. I think most people didn't work too hard on it for that very reason. I hope the EIC just decides to let me without reading my packet.

There will be several people who don't complete it and turn it in, and several more who will turn it in but won't have given it much effort. So, if you gave it a good effort, you're chances should be good.

I'm just starting to write mine and I don't even know how to do the footnotes. Does anyone have instructions on how to insert footnotes and to get the #'s raised liked that ( my mind is so fried right now, I can't even think of the right terminology)

july 13.. only 3 days before our oci bids are due. The time is ridiculous. So many firms put law review preferred. I don't want to waste bids on the firms if I'm not even on LR, but I don't want to leave all of my bidding until the last day.

I'd tell you, but I have a feeling you're not allowed to accept any sort of direct help like that. I suggest you make use of google.

Yep. I'm scouring the bluebook to find an answer to one of my citation questions and I would love to ask TLS. But it's against the rules.

If I couldn't find a rule in the book And I didn't know how to vote I just gave it my best guess and said fckuk it... Firmly expecting to have done it all for naught... Cuz my citation skills most likely are rabble Drabble dumpster trash

Pretty sure my cites were mostly crap. I kept finding situations in which one or more rule could seemingly be applied. Just gave it my best guess. Blah.

Don't be results oriented. Ex. Don't try to make law review.
Try to enjoy doing it and take it as a learning process
